  • Protect yourself from false Facebook Places check ins by changing your customized privacy settings.
  • First, access your Facebook personal profile by clicking the “Edit My Profile” link.
  • Next, click the privacy settings link below the Basic Information in the left side bar navigation.
  • You must access your “Places” privacy settings by clicking on the “Customize settings” link.
  • Facebook has left the ability for FB friends to tag you at Places by leaving the setting in the “Enabled” mode. You must select the “Disabled” setting to prevent false check ins.
  • This next series of slides take you through the use of the iPhone updated App to tag friends in Places.
  • Here, I have selected Brad Carroll as a tagged friend with me when I check in at Dakno Marketing.
  • You’ll note Brad has been selected and “tagged” with me at Dakno Marketing.
  • Because Brad has “disabled” the tagged Places functionality, his name isn’t associated with my check in at Dakno.
