Challenges • Progress in setting up the SAKSS network has been slow (due in particular now to existing IFPRI procedures…) • Funding • Strong Steering Committee meeting regularly (due to funding challenge and other issues) • Operational Research and Analysis network (low interest of research institutions) • Availability of Staff • Competing Duties of ministry officials • Inclusiveness of network • Strong interest and commitment (Weak buy-in) • Risk of capture by Host Institution

  7. 7. Conclusions • Progress made in some core countries • The SAKSS is fully country-owned in some countries however challenges affect scale of operations • Awareness has risen for SAKSS like mechanism even in other countries • Address some critical challenges to scale up and out
