  2. 2. Rule 4 Section 45 Article 1-4, 6 The basic components of verticality for the defender: 1. Legal guarding position must be established. 2. May jump vertically, but must remain within his/her vertical plane.
  3. 4. Rule 4 Section 45 Article 1-4, 6 The basic components of verticality for the defender: 3. Hands & arms must remain within the defender’s vertical plane. 4. May not “belly up” or use the lower part of the body to cause contact.
