Fort Drum to open additional gates during morning hoursBeginning Monday January 30 two additional gates on postwill open during morning hours to give motorist alternateaccess to the installation and air field and help relievemorning traffic congestion.The Nash gate on NYS Route 26 across from the Wheeler-Sack Army Airfield and the gate at Munns Corners and NYSRoute 3a in Deferiet will be open from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.Monday through Friday to Department of Defense ID cardsholders only.The opening of the Nash gate is expected to ease trafficalong NYS Route 26 in Great Bend. The gate in Deferiet willprovide an alternate route to the airfield. These gates willnot be open during the weekends or holidays.The other six access gates will remain unchanged.Mt. Belvedere, Iraqi Freedom, Gas Alley and Wheeler-Sackgates are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.Black River gate is open Monday through Friday 5:30 a.m. to7:00 p.m.45th Infantry gate is open Monday through Friday 6:00 7:00 p.m. UNCLASSIFIED/FOUO 8
