Impact of Technology in the Workplace Essay
The Impact of Technology in the Workplace The impact of computer technology in the workplace
has been enormous within the past decade, both positive and negative. Distant communication
through the use of computers and mobile devices have overhauled the office setting completely.
Email, social networking sites and the world of the Internet have opened a whole new avenue of
communication. Technology has changed the entire workplace environment, the relationships, and
how things get done. Office workers and businesses are not limited to phone calls, meetings or mail
to communicate with each other anymore. Electronic email can be used and not interrupt the
recipient. The...show more content...
Years ago, the final draft of a document went through several stages. The first draft was typed on
a type writer, edited for corrections and revisions were made. It took time for the document to be
read and reviewed by several persons before all corrections and additions were made. Then, the final
copy was re–typed with corrections. Through the use of computers, grammar, spelling, and
punctuation can be corrected and changed within the document instantly as the person types.
Mailing documents took time as well. Someone had to make a trip to the post office, purchase
postage, etc. With the use of virtual meetings, money is saved by eliminating the cost of travel.
Participants can be actively involved without leaving their own office or home. When there are
problems or urgency, solutions and reactions can occur quickly. There is acceleration of decision
making with the use of technology. Communication can occur anywhere at any time. Job applicants
no longer actually visit businesses to complete an application. Resumes and other documents can be
uploaded and easily accessible to the Human Resource Manager. Online postings, applications, and
screeners provide applicants the luxury of completing this process from their own home. Likewise,
businesses are able to obtain a great deal of information and select qualified applicants for further
evaluation. With the absence of the traditional office, physical face to face

Persuasive Essay On Cyber Security
Increased Acts of Cyber Terrorism Call into Question its Prevention
With the widespread use of technology becoming more prominent, acts of cyber terrorism pose an
increased threat to safety. Cyber terrorists exploit the internet and its users to commit acts that can be
increasingly detrimental to their targets. Some of the terrorist activities include large scale
corruption of computer networks by using tools like computer viruses. Certain individuals even have
the ability of creating severe damage to government systems, national security systems and even
hospital servers. Most of the technology made today only has intentions of making life easier for
people. However, skilled users can manipulate the cyber world for negative intentions. Staying
informed when it comes to cyber terrorism and cybercrime is important to do because of the
increased reliance on technology in society. Steps to improve cyber security before an attack
ensures the safety of sensitive information. The topic of cyber security and cyber warfare are
interesting topics to keep up to date with. Understanding these topics can be beneficial to my dream
of being in the FBI, ensuring the safety of others by working to prevent acts of cyberterrorism.

While doing some of my research, I chose to use Computer Source as my database. The main
subject of the database was trends in technology. It allowed me to search trends from any time
which was particularly helpful for my topic. The type of search that can be completed using this
database is Boolean searching. This type of searching style came in handy because the information
I was searching for involved the cyber world, so it made it easier to differentiate which aspect of
the cyber world I was researching. For example, differentiating between Cyber Terrorism and
Terrorism or Cyber Warfare. Computer Source lets its users search by publication date rather than by
scholarship level. Computer Source also showed similarities with Academic Search Complete in that
they shared similar fields. But after conducting similar searches, Computer Source provided me with
more relevant information. Overall, my search results were more refined and

Reflection On My English 101 Experience
Reflecting on My English 101 Experience I used to consider writing as tumble words from your
mind, write, read it through, fix minor mistakes, and done. However, you rarely get successful. The
truth is many students, including myself, struggle with starting to write a word, or getting stuck in
the middle without knowing the main point of the writing. After completing English 101, I can
explain the writing process, evaluate the strengths of my essay, and identify my weaknesses.
Throughout English 101, I learned that the following the writing process was imperative. Before
taking this class, I use to always skip the pre–writing step considering that it is just an easy and
unnecessary step. Consequently, I struggled to figure how to start writing, and most importantly I
struggled to figure out the main point while writing the draft. And then I finish the first draft close to
the deadline that I do not have time to read it not to mention revising. It was after I started this class
that learned that pre–writing is vital, and requires time and attention as it holds the base of the
whole writing. My professor used different analogies such as blueprint for building and map for
navigation to explain the importance. It really speeded up my writing after I started to utilize it. I
have learned outlining before, but part of the pre–writing that I was fortunate enough to learning in
English 101 is the writing triangle. Even before outlining, the topic, purpose, and audience of the

Biking Informative Speech
Biking is a hobby enjoyed by millions of people around the world. There's nothing quite like the
feeling of the open road beneath your pedals as you ride. Whether it's on the street or off–roading,
biking is a pastime that almost everyone enjoys.
However, if you're new to biking, or just haven't had much experience doing it, you may be
wondering how to get started. While you could just theoretically buy the first bike you see, if you
want to have a comfortable experience, it's important that you choose the right set of wheels.
Today I'll be talking about the best entry level road bikes to help you get started. Whether you're
just looking for a casual bike to take out with the family or a bicycle to commute to work, all of the
models you...show more content...
Since this bike is made of aluminum, it's both lightweight and surprisingly durable. If you're looking
for something simple that will last for years, this is a great bike to get.
Shimano makes some of the best gears and shifters (called derailleurs) in the industry, and the
Vilano comes with both, so you know that it will be easy to use and shift remarkably well. This bike
has 21 speeds to choose from, so you get the best ride possible.
Durability is the name of the game with this bike, as it is made with 6061 Double Butted Aluminum.
What that means is that the metal is thicker around the joints for extra strength, while the tubing
itself is thinner so you get the least weight possible. Overall, this is one of the lightest and strongest
bikes available from Vilano.
This model also comes with alloy caliper brakes. What this means is that the brakes press against
the rim of the tire to slow you down, as opposed to disc brakes, which press against a metal disk in
the center of the tire. The brakes are controlled via triggers on the handlebars.
For your riding comfort, the Vilano also has a thick padded seat that's designed for casual street

Abstract:
This essay contains the experience of my journey from college life to university life. There are real
life experiences such as mistakes, learning, religion, endurance, emotions, timing, decision making,
traveling and environment. I have experienced a lot of new things and learned that will be helpful
for me in my journey throughout life.
"Get up man! You are getting late! " this line is heard out of every room, when you are a hostel lite.
You are on your own throughout the university life experience. Every step that you take is full of
new challenges and unexpected results, for example, if I get up late just because of laziness, I will
miss the bus going to the university, then I will reach late in class, miss something in the lecture. But

compared to other universities, our teaching staff is much better and anyone who is keen to learn
can go to any teacher and ask for help. Third, I when I was coming to the university, I thought there
would one day for orientation and from the next days, we will start our studies but I was actually
pleased to see that there was a whole week for orientation. We visited our whole college and were
introduced to the faculty, moreover, there were many new activities that we performed and many of
them had some home taking fruits of thought. We had discussion with a faculty member on the
merits of the university and personally, that was the real education, we were getting and even now
there are some times when I sit with many of the faculty members and discuss different topics to get
some wisdom and try my level best implement it on my personal

Evidence-Based Writing Strengths
One of my strengths is spelling and punctuation; however, I need to work on in text MLA citations.
In evidence–based writing, if there are any evidence that the individual is citing then they must used
an in–text MLA format. For example, the in text citation should be in parenthesis and should be
placed at the end of the quote. Depending on the source, it would either have the author or the title of
the source. In the evidence, if the individual used a source, this part is the most essential because it
can become plagiarism if the source isn't cited. Despite the fact my strength is punctuation, in text
citation is an important factor in evidence–based writing and it should be improved on.

Writing A Thesis Statement
Chapter three explains what a thesis is, gives examples, and informs where the thesis can be located
in an essay. A thesis is summarized in one or two sentences as the main point, main idea or
controlling idea stated in an essay. Some thesis statements are directly stated, implied or suggested.
The writer needs to relate their thoughts about the essay to their thesis, because the thesis directs and
controls the decisions made about the way you write your essay. As you get into more depth of your
essay maybe consider adjusting the thesis statement to your new idea. The thesis statement should be
general. A thesis statement is a claim that can be supported by evidence, but it is not a

How Writing Changed My Life
Through all of my accomplishments and disappointments, I have always been especially proud
of the dedication and passion I have for my personal beliefs and values. If there is no struggle, there
is no progress, with drive and a bit of hard work you can move mountains. Based on hard work and
success, it goes hand in hand because life is designed to be tough. When I was 14 years old, I
realized how important writing is in our everyday life. I realized that writing was something
important in my life and it has changed my personal life. In my freshman year in High School
during "Career Day," one of the presenter who was a writer, helped me understand how important
writing is.

Persuasive Essay On Technology Addiction
The instant a person 's phone goes off, their reflex is to immediately grab it, right? This is because
they are addicted to their cell phone and it has become natural to check it when they receive a
notification; It has become an addiction. Many times, while people are eating dinner, their cell
phones lie on the table next to them, or they have them sitting in their laps. What makes this issue
even worse is the fact that restaurants also have tablets on the table with games and different features
and distract from the social benefits of family dining.Dining with one's family and friends is
supposed to be a bonding experience where one can talk, laugh, and enjoy the presence of others.
The additive nature of technology is the base of...show more content...
Most adults use technology just as much as teenagers. While they may not be using them
particularly for social media, it can also be an addiction for them too. When work becomes
stressful and bills are getting piled up, adults lean towards their cell phone or computer/tablet to
distract and get their minds off of the stressor. It is so addictive, it has become a natural reflex our
society does not even notice.
Technology has become the base of family/friends physical separation. As the gap between
communication and interaction expands, physical contact becomes less important.(Simons)
Physical contact is important because the more time you spend with family and friends, the
better chance you have of sharing memorable experiences(1). It is always nice to see face to face
with family and friends who you do not get to see everyday. Going out, making memories, and
enjoying time together can be done without the distractions of cell phones. Most people would
use the excuse for using cell phones to capture pictures; The newest iphone cost 14x as much as a
new polaroid camera not including the bill you pay every month for a cell phone. Others would
use the excuse of needing a cell phone to keep in touch with others or checking the time. Cell
phones are made to keep in touch, keeping the ringer on and sticking the phone in a purse or pocket

Becoming a Fashion Designer
Cynthia Nellis, in her column "Day in the Life of a Fashion Couture Designer", says, "... nothing
is ever typical in the world of fashion...no day is ever 'routine', although we begin and end each day
more or less the same: in early, out late." Working as aFashion Designer is a very busy, hard and
challenging job. You have to provide a lot of strengths in creativity, marketing and determination;
to be successful. The purpose of this paper is to give information on the subject on fashion design,
and to intend to show how fashion design works. Several questions will be addressed in this
research paper. What is a usual work day look like? How...show more content...
Many famous designers get to travel all over the world to see fashion shows and get foreign
inspiration, or even to just make business connections. Unfortunately, there are some
disadvantages too. Perfection is often a nemesis of many famous designers. It takes sometimes
more than two hundred hours to complete a ambitious project, depending on the complexity of
the inner and outer construction and the extent of the finish work. Another disadvantage is
working late shifts and overtime, without receiving much salary. The advantages can be in a way
disadvantages. While working with other people there might be conflicts or a possibility of
fighting with difficult coworkers. Another disadvantage is that designers work in a room that is
very noisy and distracting. You work the hardest when it is right before a deadline or a fashion
show. They cram everything, which places more pressure on them during this time. Last but not
least, fashion designers have a difficult time trying to find one specific type of clothing that fits
all the people. ("How to become a fashion designer") To become a designer, it is best to begin at a
young age and develop your talents. A fashion designer should be artistic and full of imagination
and ideas. In addition you should be able to work hard, be open– minded to other workers, which
includes self– motivation and the ability to work under pressure. "We can't teach you how to be
creative – you have to bring your creativity to us and let

123 Test Reflection
For the 123 Test, my results showed that my openness to experience is low, my conscientiousness
is very low, my extraversion is very low, my agreeableness is high, and my natural reactions are
very high. The descriptions given to me included down–to–earth, spontaneous, reserved,
compassionate, and prone to worry. I think that the test describes me pretty well, however I feel that
my score on conscientiousness should have at least been in the mid range. I also think that the test
is valid and tests what it is supposed to. I don't think the test is reliable in the sense that a person can
choose whatever choice they want. I also think that sometimes a person may make different choices,
especially on questions that were harder for the test taker to answer.
My score on the Psychology Today test gave me a 47 on a scale of 100 for my success orientation.

I feel that these scores pretty much match how I actually am. I think I am a bit more organized than
the test concluded but the other results were pretty accurate. I think that the test is valid in what it
wanted to test, however like the other tests, I think that the reliability is low because sometimes
people's answers can change on a day–to–day basis for some of the questions. I think that the three
tests supported some of the thoughts that I already had about my personality. The 123 Test and
the Big Five test were pretty accurate, however I did not agree with the description given for the
Psychology Today test. I think that the test was not beneficial because it gave a score that was only
based on scoring above or below the 50th percentile. That means that scores like mine that were at
47 were not as accurate to my actual personality as they could

Reflective Essay On Helping People
We always talked about helping others. I noticed that you love helping people, it gives you joy to
help others, and I think that's something we both share. I understand now, when you cannot help
me, you don't feel the joy. In a way you feel like you can't help me and it may feel like a rejection. I
am not rejecting you when you offer help and I say no. There are times where I should have asked
for help and I didn't, because I thought you couldn't, which isn't an excuse, I should have given
you a chance. I didn't ask for help because I was embarrassed and thought you would think less of
me. I have problems with helping others and my professor actually pulled me aside from the final
and wanted me to write why I felt like I need to be a savoir, and help others so much. I talked to her
after class as a therapist and not a professor. I realized that what I thought was helping, was
actually not. I thought all help was good and it's not. When I go out my way and help others who
been helped their whole lives, I'm just feeding into what they want. I'm not letting them learn on
their own, and will continue to help, and its actually not helping at all. I am guilty of doing that to
you sometimes. I'm always trying to help and it's not real help and we get stuck in the same cycle.
We went back and forth on this relationship, at one point you didn't want it, and I did, another point
you wanted it and I didn't. There were points where we both wanted it and It was wonderful. I had

Persuasive Essay On After School Programs
After school, from 3 to 6 p.m, is a critical period of time in a child's life. After school programs
help keep kids safe and inspire them to learn during that period of time. After school programs are
organized programs that youth can participate in outside of a traditional school day. Enrolling
children in afterschool programs would provide them with benefits that unenrolled children would
not receive, such as reduce risky behavior and promote physical health. After school programs
provide a safe environment for children, while positively impacting their academics, safety, and their
future. Generally, after school programs are ran by schools, faith–based, or community–based
nonprofit organizations. Most programs are held directly after school, but can also be held on
weekends, over breaks or vacations, or on evenings. It is important to define what the purpose of
the program is going to be, whether it be academics, sports, special interests, or cultural activities.
Some other key factors of an after school program are high levels of children involvement, a mix of
academic and non academic skill building activities, and positive relationships between staff and
children. Successful programs have dedicated staff and structured routines for the children. When
after school programs are ran successfully, the children involved will receive positive benefits and
skills they will be able to use to better their future. In communities today, 11.3 million children take

Essay On English 123
English 123 is a requirement for almost all majors, including mine. To meet this requirement, I was
given a choice a take English Composition CLEP and English 123. I decided to take this course
with the hope to improve my writing and critical thinking skills. Even though it was hard to take an
English class on deployment, I am very glad that I took it. My time is well spent on this course.
Among many things, I learned out of this course, here are a three outcome that is worth mentioning.
First, responding orally and in writing to evaluate, analyze, and critically assess the ideas and
meaning of diverse texts. Second, making appropriate rhetorical decisions to achieve the purpose of
a written work, based on an understanding of ethical issues and underlying assumptions and values in
the argument. Third, demonstrating understanding of the interdependent relationship of reading,
writing, and thinking and reflect on their thinking as part of a larger community of thinkers.
I learned how to respond orally and in writing to evaluate, analyze, and critically assess the ideas
and meaning of diverse texts by composing summary and strong response, and exploratory research

Donald Murray The Revising Process Of Writing
According to Donald M. Murray, revising a work of writing is an essential procedure a writer goes
through. As many other professional writers have mentioned, "Writing is rewriting," they see each
draft as an opportunity to rebuild their work since there's never a feeling of satisfaction. In his essay,
Murray incorporates the experiences of authors Peter F. Drucker, Ray Bradbury, John Ciardi, Eleanor
Estes, and others to make an argument on how important the revising and editing process are when
writing for an audience. Murray divides his essay into three main sections which are becoming the
enemy of our first draft, using the seven elements of writing such as the audience and information,
and lastly finding the potential and alternatives of

One of the most noticeable aspects of the entertainment industry today is the prevalence of the
celebrity. In any entertainment medium whether it be music, print media or the film industry,
celebrities can be seen. Celebrities are often the face of the product as well, and so they are what
draws the consumer in, largely because of the sway the Celebrity has over the public. Celebrities
are a rather intriguing twentieth century invention, and it is the goal of this essay to look at how a

that makes the audience want to see these people on the...show more content...
Two actresses can claim that role as the first household name icon, both for different reasons and
both with some clout behind those claims. The first star that reached a zenith in the movie–going
populous was Florence Lawrence. Florence Lawrence was an early Biograph girl, who worked
under producer Carl Laemmle. It was during this time that the papers began to run the story of
her untimely death in a car accident which was not true, and to this day it is unclear which was
first the story or the publicity , but what it did was create a fervor over the "last movie" she was
said to a appear in. Since she was still alive she went to each premiere and at each point, those
who had come to the premiere locations became more and more obsessed as she appeared, happy
to see the shining star they had heard had died appear in front of them, alive and well. Florence
Lawrence may have been the first known star, but her star was one that quickly faded after the
reveal that she was in fact, still living after all. Florence Lawrence was the first time the studios
had used the performer themselves as the way to hype a movie before its release and in that sense,
yes, Florence Lawrence was the first star in the film industry, but she can not be said to truly the be
the original star as they are known today because she did not last long enough in the public's eye or
consciousness. what Florence Lawrence did do was show that the audience was hungry to know
about those that

Asking For Help Essay
Prior to completing Skip Downing's "On Course Self Assessment," I was starting to realize one of
my most sabotaging behaviors. I find it incredibly difficult to say a three–word phrase. When it
comes to assisting others, I have no problem lending a helping hand, but I cannot tell anyone that "I
need help." In writing this paper I hope to recognize the roots of my problem and adopt a plan to
aid me in overcoming this negative behavior. After I took the self–assessment and received a low
score in the area of interdependence, I began considering options for overcoming my hesitation so
that I may become a successful student. The first strategy is to learn that I cannot do everything by
myself. Typically, I never ask for...show more content...
We cannot know everything, and we can all benefit from mutual helping relationships. I may need
someone to explain something discussed in Psychology class today and that person may need the
favor returned for English. Working together and helping others is important in almost every area
of life. I do not need to feel ashamed for reaching out first. As a result of doing the assessment, I
realized that I seldom request and often reject offers of assistance. A successful student would
employ interdependence by actively seeking out mutually supportive relationships to help achieve
their goals and dreams, while doing the same for others in return. I chose this topic because I do not
want to be a struggling student! Interdependence is a key factor in being successful in college. In
order to obtain a degree a college student must do well in all areas of their studies. To accomplish
that, he or she must comprehend the subject matter taught and apply what they learn. If a student
does not understand something and refuses to ask for help when it is readily available, they are
only hurting themselves. Three little words can make all the difference. By asking someone who is
more knowledgeable than they may be in a certain area, they could find the missing pieces that lead
to total understanding. This will enable them to perform better on my assignments and to keep
moving forward towards that college degree. College can be an

Mercy's Mission And Values Statement
The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center– Mercy, commonly known as UPMC Mercy, was
founded on Jan. 1, 1847, by the Sisters of Mercy. It was formerly known as Mercy Hospital of
Pittsburgh. "The Sisters of Mercy, a religious congregation founded in Ireland in 1831 by
Catherine McAuley, brought its caring and compassionate labors to burgeoning, industrial
Pittsburgh in 1843." (UPMC Mercy, 2015) The Pittsburgh congregation, known as the "Seven
Sisters of Mercy," was led by Mother Frances Warde and consisted of six additional sisters who
sought to establish a healthcare system for all without regard to race, religion, age, gender or
ethnicity. (UPMC Mercy, 2015) UPMC Mercy was the first permanent hospital in Pittsburgh and
the first Mercy Hospital in the world. (UPMC Mercy, 2015) UPMC Mercy's Mission and Values
statement clearly illustrates the principles of Gaudium et Spes, Part II, Chapter III, Section II: 72,
"Christians who take an active part in present–day socio–economic development and fight for justice
and charity should be convinced that they can make a great contribution to the prosperity of
mankind and to the peace of the world." (VI, 1965) Reverence for each person: We believe that each

  • 1. Impact of Technology in the Workplace Essay The Impact of Technology in the Workplace The impact of computer technology in the workplace has been enormous within the past decade, both positive and negative. Distant communication through the use of computers and mobile devices have overhauled the office setting completely. Email, social networking sites and the world of the Internet have opened a whole new avenue of communication. Technology has changed the entire workplace environment, the relationships, and how things get done. Office workers and businesses are not limited to phone calls, meetings or mail to communicate with each other anymore. Electronic email can be used and not interrupt the recipient. The...show more content... Years ago, the final draft of a document went through several stages. The first draft was typed on a type writer, edited for corrections and revisions were made. It took time for the document to be read and reviewed by several persons before all corrections and additions were made. Then, the final copy was re–typed with corrections. Through the use of computers, grammar, spelling, and punctuation can be corrected and changed within the document instantly as the person types. Mailing documents took time as well. Someone had to make a trip to the post office, purchase postage, etc. With the use of virtual meetings, money is saved by eliminating the cost of travel. Participants can be actively involved without leaving their own office or home. When there are problems or urgency, solutions and reactions can occur quickly. There is acceleration of decision making with the use of technology. Communication can occur anywhere at any time. Job applicants no longer actually visit businesses to complete an application. Resumes and other documents can be uploaded and easily accessible to the Human Resource Manager. Online postings, applications, and screeners provide applicants the luxury of completing this process from their own home. Likewise, businesses are able to obtain a great deal of information and select qualified applicants for further evaluation. • 2. Persuasive Essay On Cyber Security Increased Acts of Cyber Terrorism Call into Question its Prevention With the widespread use of technology becoming more prominent, acts of cyber terrorism pose an increased threat to safety. Cyber terrorists exploit the internet and its users to commit acts that can be increasingly detrimental to their targets. Some of the terrorist activities include large scale corruption of computer networks by using tools like computer viruses. Certain individuals even have the ability of creating severe damage to government systems, national security systems and even hospital servers. Most of the technology made today only has intentions of making life easier for people. However, skilled users can manipulate the cyber world for negative intentions. Staying informed when it comes to cyber terrorism and cybercrime is important to do because of the increased reliance on technology in society. Steps to improve cyber security before an attack ensures the safety of sensitive information. The topic of cyber security and cyber warfare are interesting topics to keep up to date with. Understanding these topics can be beneficial to my dream of being in the FBI, ensuring the safety of others by working to prevent acts of cyberterrorism. 1. Cybercrime 2. Cyberwarfare 3. Cyberterrorism 4. Cyber Security While doing some of my research, I chose to use Computer Source as my database. The main subject of the database was trends in technology. It allowed me to search trends from any time which was particularly helpful for my topic. The type of search that can be completed using this database is Boolean searching. This type of searching style came in handy because the information I was searching for involved the cyber world, so it made it easier to differentiate which aspect of the cyber world I was researching. For example, differentiating between Cyber Terrorism and Terrorism or Cyber Warfare. Computer Source lets its users search by publication date rather than by scholarship level. Computer Source also showed similarities with Academic Search Complete in that they shared similar fields. But after conducting similar searches, Computer Source provided me with more relevant information. Overall, my search results were more refined and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Reflection On My English 101 Experience Reflecting on My English 101 Experience I used to consider writing as tumble words from your mind, write, read it through, fix minor mistakes, and done. However, you rarely get successful. The truth is many students, including myself, struggle with starting to write a word, or getting stuck in the middle without knowing the main point of the writing. After completing English 101, I can explain the writing process, evaluate the strengths of my essay, and identify my weaknesses. Throughout English 101, I learned that the following the writing process was imperative. Before taking this class, I use to always skip the pre–writing step considering that it is just an easy and unnecessary step. Consequently, I struggled to figure how to start writing, and most importantly I struggled to figure out the main point while writing the draft. And then I finish the first draft close to the deadline that I do not have time to read it not to mention revising. It was after I started this class that learned that pre–writing is vital, and requires time and attention as it holds the base of the whole writing. My professor used different analogies such as blueprint for building and map for navigation to explain the importance. It really speeded up my writing after I started to utilize it. I have learned outlining before, but part of the pre–writing that I was fortunate enough to learning in English 101 is the writing triangle. Even before outlining, the topic, purpose, and audience of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Whether it's on the street or off–roading, biking is a pastime that almost everyone enjoys. However, if you're new to biking, or just haven't had much experience doing it, you may be wondering how to get started. In evidence–based writing, if there are any evidence that the individual is citing then they must used an in–text MLA format. For example, the in text citation should be in parenthesis and should be placed at the end of the quote. Depending on the source, it would either have the author or the title of the source. In the evidence, if the individual used a source, this part is the most essential because it can become plagiarism if the source isn't cited. Despite the fact my strength is punctuation, in text citation is an important factor in evidence–based writing and it should be improved on. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Many famous designers get to travel all over the world to see fashion shows and get foreign inspiration, or even to just make business connections. Unfortunately, there are some disadvantages too. Perfection is often a nemesis of many famous designers. It takes sometimes more than two hundred hours to complete a ambitious project, depending on the complexity of the inner and outer construction and the extent of the finish work. Another disadvantage is working late shifts and overtime, without receiving much salary. The advantages can be in a way disadvantages. While working with other people there might be conflicts or a possibility of fighting with difficult coworkers. Another disadvantage is that designers work in a room that is very noisy and distracting. You work the hardest when it is right before a deadline or a fashion show. • 11. 123 Test Reflection For the 123 Test, my results showed that my openness to experience is low, my conscientiousness is very low, my extraversion is very low, my agreeableness is high, and my natural reactions are very high. The descriptions given to me included down–to–earth, spontaneous, reserved, compassionate, and prone to worry. I think that the test describes me pretty well, however I feel that my score on conscientiousness should have at least been in the mid range. I also think that the test is valid and tests what it is supposed to. I don't think the test is reliable in the sense that a person can choose whatever choice they want. I also think that sometimes a person may make different choices, especially on questions that were harder for the test taker to answer. My score on the Psychology Today test gave me a 47 on a scale of 100 for my success orientation. ...show more content... I feel that these scores pretty much match how I actually am. I think I am a bit more organized than the test concluded but the other results were pretty accurate. I think that the test is valid in what it wanted to test, however like the other tests, I think that the reliability is low because sometimes people's answers can change on a day–to–day basis for some of the questions. I think that the three tests supported some of the thoughts that I already had about my personality. The 123 Test and the Big Five test were pretty accurate, however I did not agree with the description given for the Psychology Today test. I think that the test was not beneficial because it gave a score that was only based on scoring above or below the 50th percentile. That means that scores like mine that were at 47 were not as accurate to my actual personality as they could Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Reflective Essay On Helping People We always talked about helping others. I noticed that you love helping people, it gives you joy to help others, and I think that's something we both share. I understand now, when you cannot help me, you don't feel the joy. In a way you feel like you can't help me and it may feel like a rejection. I am not rejecting you when you offer help and I say no. There are times where I should have asked for help and I didn't, because I thought you couldn't, which isn't an excuse, I should have given you a chance. I didn't ask for help because I was embarrassed and thought you would think less of me. I have problems with helping others and my professor actually pulled me aside from the final and wanted me to write why I felt like I need to be a savoir, and help others so much. I talked to her after class as a therapist and not a professor. I realized that what I thought was helping, was actually not. I thought all help was good and it's not. When I go out my way and help others who been helped their whole lives, I'm just feeding into what they want. I'm not letting them learn on their own, and will continue to help, and its actually not helping at all. I am guilty of doing that to you sometimes. I'm always trying to help and it's not real help and we get stuck in the same cycle. • 13. Persuasive Essay On After School Programs After school, from 3 to 6 p.m, is a critical period of time in a child's life. After school programs help keep kids safe and inspire them to learn during that period of time. After school programs are organized programs that youth can participate in outside of a traditional school day. Enrolling children in afterschool programs would provide them with benefits that unenrolled children would not receive, such as reduce risky behavior and promote physical health. After school programs provide a safe environment for children, while positively impacting their academics, safety, and their future. Generally, after school programs are ran by schools, faith–based, or community–based nonprofit organizations. Most programs are held directly after school, but can also be held on weekends, over breaks or vacations, or on evenings. It is important to define what the purpose of the program is going to be, whether it be academics, sports, special interests, or cultural activities. Some other key factors of an after school program are high levels of children involvement, a mix of academic and non academic skill building activities, and positive relationships between staff and children. Successful programs have dedicated staff and structured routines for the children. When after school programs are ran successfully, the children involved will receive positive benefits and skills they will be able to use to better their future. I decided to take this course with the hope to improve my writing and critical thinking skills. Even though it was hard to take an English class on deployment, I am very glad that I took it. First, responding orally and in writing to evaluate, analyze, and critically assess the ideas and meaning of diverse texts. Second, making appropriate rhetorical decisions to achieve the purpose of a written work, based on an understanding of ethical issues and underlying assumptions and values in the argument. Third, demonstrating understanding of the interdependent relationship of reading, writing, and thinking and reflect on their thinking as part of a larger community of thinkers. As many other professional writers have mentioned, "Writing is rewriting," they see each draft as an opportunity to rebuild their work since there's never a feeling of satisfaction. In his essay, Murray incorporates the experiences of authors Peter F. Drucker, Ray Bradbury, John Ciardi, Eleanor Estes, and others to make an argument on how important the revising and editing process are when writing for an audience. Murray divides his essay into three main sections which are becoming the enemy of our first draft, using the seven elements of writing such as the audience and information, and lastly finding the potential and alternatives of Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In any entertainment medium whether it be music, print media or the film industry, celebrities can be seen. Celebrities are often the face of the product as well, and so they are what draws the consumer in, largely because of the sway the Celebrity has over the public. Celebrities are a rather intriguing twentieth century invention, and it is the goal of this essay to look at how a person becomes a star in the show business world, how they are marketed to an audience, and as the remarkable bond with the audience that these celebrities cultivate through their marketing and press that makes the audience want to see these people on the...show more content... Two actresses can claim that role as the first household name icon, both for different reasons and both with some clout behind those claims. The first star that reached a zenith in the movie–going populous was Florence Lawrence. Florence Lawrence was an early Biograph girl, who worked under producer Carl Laemmle. It was during this time that the papers began to run the story of her untimely death in a car accident which was not true, and to this day it is unclear which was first the story or the publicity , but what it did was create a fervor over the "last movie" she was said to a appear in. Since she was still alive she went to each premiere and at each point, those who had come to the premiere locations became more and more obsessed as she appeared, happy to see the shining star they had heard had died appear in front of them, alive and well. Florence Lawrence may have been the first known star, but her star was one that quickly faded after the reveal that she was in fact, still living after all. Florence Lawrence was the first time the studios had used the performer themselves as the way to hype a movie before its release and in that sense, yes, Florence Lawrence was the first star in the film industry, but she can not be said to truly the be the original star as they are known today because she did not last long enough in the public's eye or consciousness. what Florence Lawrence did do was show that the audience was hungry to know about those that Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I find it incredibly difficult to say a three–word phrase. When it comes to assisting others, I have no problem lending a helping hand, but I cannot tell anyone that "I need help." In writing this paper I hope to recognize the roots of my problem and adopt a plan to aid me in overcoming this negative behavior. After I took the self–assessment and received a low score in the area of interdependence, I began considering options for overcoming my hesitation so that I may become a successful student. We cannot know everything, and we can all benefit from mutual helping relationships. I may need someone to explain something discussed in Psychology class today and that person may need the favor returned for English. Working together and helping others is important in almost every area of life. I do not need to feel ashamed for reaching out first. As a result of doing the assessment, I realized that I seldom request and often reject offers of assistance. A successful student would employ interdependence by actively seeking out mutually supportive relationships to help achieve their goals and dreams, while doing the same for others in return. I chose this topic because I do not want to be a struggling student! Interdependence is a key factor in being successful in college. In order to obtain a degree a college student must do well in all areas of their studies. To accomplish that, he or she must comprehend the subject matter taught and apply what they learn. If a student does not understand something and refuses to ask for help when it is readily available, they are only hurting themselves. Three little words can make all the difference. By asking someone who is more knowledgeable than they may be in a certain area, they could find the missing pieces that lead to total understanding.
