  1. 1. The Effects of Smoking Cigarettes<br />Although manufacturers are still producing and selling cigarettes to make a profit, cigarettes are harmful to the health of human beings. The costs of cigarettes are steady on the rise. Nevertheless, people are still buying cigarettes. People choose to smoke because they enjoy the pleasure of having something to relax themselves. Some people picked up the habit to smoke from relatives or friends.<br />Some of the effects of smoking cigarettes are the loss of appetite, weight gain or loss. When people are smoking in a closed environment, the smoke tends to float in the air like a white cloud and causes a bad effect on people as they inhale the second hand smoke. Cigarettes begin to affect the lungs; in addition, it harms people who suffer from asthma and allergies. Most of all, smoking begins to cause shortness of breathing and leads to emphysema and other diseases. Later, smoking starts to wear and tear the body system down.<br />After smoking cigarettes for a long period of time, it begins affecting the lungs, heart, and liver. Smoking will eventually eat away at the soft tissues and muscles. The manufacturer has to post a warning sign on cigarette packs reading that they are harmful to anyone’s health and that the effects could lead to death.<br />Cigarettes are harmful to human beings health and causes effects to the body system. Many people smoke to relax, pleasure, or because of a trait.<br />
