Ridesharing corridors

 1. 1. Ridesharing Corridors Robert D. Cormia Foothill College
 2. 6. Ridesharing Culture Social engineering for a world with fewer cars, less petroleum, and a genuine desire to collaborate
 3. 7. Social Transportation Networks => Tools Flows of vehicles that have positions and paths Flows of people that have schedules and destinations V (P,P) <= Social Transportation Tools => P (S,D)
 4. 8. Ridesharing Corridors San Francisco San Jose De Anza Foothill Skyline Daly City Palo Alto Cupertino
 5. 9. Narrative

Most cars on the freeway are single occupant. Imagine a different paradigm – the intersection of flows of vehicles, with positions and paths => v(p,p) , with flows of people, with schedules and destinations => p(s,d), and using social transportation tools (e.g. Zimride™) that merge these dynamic networks . Imagine ridesharing corridors , the merging of trust networks with a ride sharing / collaboration ethic .
