  4. 4. SO GREAT A SALVATION
  5. 5. Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. 2 For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution,
  6. 6. 3 how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard, 4 while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.
  7. 7. The Atonement is the act of God by which sins are covered by the price of shed blood, the wages of sin have been paid, and God can once again look upon us with favour.

  11. 11. THE CROSS IS HORRIBLE AND YET POWERFUL
  12. 12. The Scriptures do not hide the shame and agony that was involved for Jesus.
  13. 13. Isaiah 50:6 6 I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting.
  14. 14. Psalm 22:12-18 14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint… My heart has turned to wax; it has melted within me. 16 Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me;

  35. 35. FORGIVENESS IS A FACT FROM GOD’S POINT OF VIEW
  36. 36. TO DEAL WITH ANXIETY AND CARE
  37. 37. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28

  40. 40. TO PROVIDE FOR US
  41. 41. “The devil does not mind us believing in God as long as he is a god who does nothing”
  42. 42. So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? Romans 8:32 [TM]

  45. 45. TO RELEASE THE HEALING POWER OF GOD
  46. 46. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 1Peter 2:24
  47. 47. God has established the principle of healing in the death and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus died bruised and broken but He was raised healed and whole.
  48. 48. TO RESCUE US FROM DEATH - TO GIVE US LIFE
  49. 49. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10
  50. 50. TO OVERCOME THE WORLD AND THE DEVIL
  51. 51. …having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross Colossians 2:15

  54. 54. Outside of the cross of Jesus Christ, there is no hope in this world. That cross and resurrection at the core of the Gospel is the only hope for humanity. Wherever you go, ask God for wisdom on how to get that Gospel in, even in the toughest situations of life. Ravi Zacharias
