Working groups for experience exchanges on specific topics, including advanced and less advanced countries in the topics (legal framework set up, strategy formulation, etc.)2. Task forces of experts to work on specific fields in the region such as standards, labels, incentives, etc.3. Capacity building and assistance to policy makers to develop their appropriate EE strategies4. Help RCREEE countries to set up EE information systems (national and regional)5. Financial support to RCREEE members covering all sectors

Help creating an association for appliances producers in the region around labeling and standards of equipments8. Preparation of regional pilot projects with other donors (GEF, etc.) in the following fields: • Appliances testing facilities • Solar cooling and air conditioning • New carbon market mechanism9. Capacities building activities • RCREEE Periodic newsletter on best practices exchanges between countries of the region • Workshops to decision makers on EE policies and strategies

Carry out studies for the following topics: • EE technology industrialization in the region and know how transfer • Geothermal heat pumping in the region • Practical guide books for energy audits for main sectors • EE in transport • EE and spatial planning with the contribution of MED ENEC project.

RE recommendations to RCREEE• Harmonization of legislations and policies between member countries• Regular update of parameters (both qualitative and quantitative parameters) – For the ones used in the study – New possible detailed ones• Need for developing validation methodology for the information in the matrix 5
  6. 6. RE recommendations to RCREEE• To discuss with RCREEE member countries how to benefit from the study• Further strengthening multiple networks among the member countries on the following: –R&D – Information – Technology transfer – Sharing experience – Capacity building 6

RE recommendations to RCREEE• Further detailed regional studies are needed on the area of RE: – Feed in tariffs – Standards and labels – Poverty alleviation as related to RE• To help member countries to further develop their action plan• To look into the implementation of the study recommendations and current workshop 7
