  3. 3. Genesis 1:26-31 Then God said, “Let us make man in ourimage, after our likeness. And let them have dominionover the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavensand over the livestock and over all the earth and overevery creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” [27] So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.[28] And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Befruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, andhave dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birdsof the heavens and over every living thing that moves onthe earth.”

You shall have them for food.[30] And to every beast of the earth and to every bird ofthe heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth,everything that has the breath of life, I have given everygreen plant for food.” And it was so. [31] And God saweverything that He had made, and behold, it was verygood. And there was evening and there was morning, thesixth day.

  9. 9. Genesis 2:7-9 Then the LORD God formedthe man of dust from the ground andbreathed into his nostrils the breath of life,and the man became a living creature. Andthe LORD God planted a garden in Eden, inthe east, and there he put the man whomhe had formed. And out of the ground theLORD God made to spring up every treethat is pleasant to the sight and good forfood. The tree of life was in the midst ofthe garden, and the tree of the knowledgeof good and evil.

Genesis 2:18 Then the LORD God said, “Itis not good that the man should be alone; Iwill make him a helper fit for him.”Genesis 2:20-25 The man gave names to alllivestock and to the birds of the heavensand to every beast of the field. But forAdam there was not found a helper fit forhim. So the LORD God caused a deep sleepto fall upon the man, and while he slepttook one of his ribs and closed up its placewith flesh. And the rib that the LORD Godhad taken from the man he made into awoman and brought her to the man.

Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”Therefore a man shall leave his father andhis mother and hold fast to his wife, andthey shall become one flesh. And the manand his wife were both naked and werenot ashamed.

And whatever the man calledevery living creature, that was its name. The man gavenames to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens andto every beast of the field. But for Adam there was notfound a helper fit for him.
