A2 level in English?
The A2 level represents basic
proficiency in the language. At this level,
learners can understand and use
commonly used expressions related to
areas of immediate relevance. They can
participate in simple conversations and
express opinions on familiar topics.
Understand sentences and frequently used
expressions related to common areas (e.g. very
basic personal and family information, shopping,
local geography, employment).
Communicate in simple and routine tasks
requiring a simple and direct exchange of
information.
Describe in simple terms aspects of your
background and immediate matters.
At the end of English level A2, you can:
An A2 level of English is sufficient for tourism in an
English-speaking country and socializing with English
speakers, although to develop deeper friendships an A2
level is not adequate. An A2 level of English also allows
for networking with English-speaking colleagues, but
working in English is limited to very familiar topics at
the A2 level.

B1
B1 English level, the third tier in the CEFR, is
termed "intermediate." Recognized by the Council of
Europe, it indicates a proficiency beyond basics but
not yet suitable for exclusive work or study in
English.
B1 Competence
- Understand topics related to family, work, school or
leisure.
- Communicate essential ideas and points in familiar
contexts.
Key tips for B1 level.
- The time to reach B1 varies (approx. 350-400
hours).
- Intermediate level, communication in familiar
contexts
- Requires 450 hours, characterized by the use
of familiar expressions and basic phrases.

It is the 4th level of English in the CEFR.
It is known as Upper Intermediate.
The scale score goes from 160 to 179 points.
The timing for this test is about 3.5 hours.
There are 4 papers which evaluate:

Communicate effectively face-to-face,
expressing opinions and presenting
arguments
Follow the news
Write clear, detailed English, expressing
opinions and explaining the advantages and
disadvantages of different points of view

on concrete or abstract topics, including
some technical discussions.
Express themselves fluently and
spontaneously enough to comfortably
communicate with other English speakers.

Facts
Although progress will depend on the type
of course and the individual student,
students can expect to reach the B2 level in
English with 600 hours of cumulative
instruction.
This exam is the logical step in your
language learning journey between B1
Preliminary and C1 Advanced.

At this level, learners can understand and use commonly used expressions related to areas of immediate relevance. They can participate in simple conversations and express opinions on familiar topics. Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to common areas (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information. Describe in simple terms aspects of your background and immediate matters. At the end of English level A2, you can: An A2 level of English is sufficient for tourism in an English-speaking country and socializing with English speakers, although to develop deeper friendships an A2 level is not adequate.   • 4. CEFR FOR B2 General information It is the 4th level of English in the CEFR. It is known as Upper Intermediate. The scale score goes from 160 to 179 points. The timing for this test is about 3.5 hours. There are 4 papers which evaluate: -- Reading and Use of English -- Writing --Speaking -- Listening Qualifications Communicate effectively face-to-face, expressing opinions and presenting arguments Follow the news Write clear, detailed English, expressing opinions and explaining the advantages and disadvantages of different points of view Write letters, reports, stories and lots of other types of text. Benefits Understand the main ideas of complex texts on concrete or abstract topics, including some technical discussions. Express themselves fluently and spontaneously enough to comfortably communicate with other English speakers. Produce clear, detailed text on many subjects and explain a complex viewpoint on a topic, including expressing advantages and disadvantages.
