Each type of access has its distinct advantages. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The controller-based solution uses LWAPP, through which access points discover and exchange information with controllers. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Once associated to a controller, an access point can be set to different modes to optimize the network efficiency. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>When a client roams, the infrastructure will make the roaming seamless, with different possible behaviors for the infrastructure (symmetric, asymmetric roaming). </li></ul></ul>
