  • The slide highlighting how we should educate the customer on how the business makes money is an interesting point. The saying 'There is no such thing as a free lunch' holds true.

    By advertising how the business makes it revenue, does invite a conversation. If the conversation starts, there is an obligation on the company to listen and act on feedback from customers.

    So if the business decides to reveal how revenue is made, it needs to prepare for feedback. When Facebook users discovered their preferences were being harvested for cash, most didn't care. However some did, and that minority whipped up a PR storm that raged for a few months in press.
