“A Reaction Paper on Political Films”

1. REACTION PAPER: Choose one and Watch the ff documentary films
during Martial Law Era in the Philippines (available in LRC-DVD, Youtube,
or DVD) The films are the ff:
• BATAS MILITAR
• IMELDA
• DEKADA 70
After watching and understanding the Film’s context and content do the
following: (100 points overall)
a. Write a complete but brief summary of the chosen film. (20 points)
b. Reaction Essay: Answer the following questions as completely and
briefly as possible: (80 points)
i. In your point of view is the film accurately and historically
done or is it biased? Explain your answer.
ii. What lessons did you learn from the film? Give at least two
and explain it’s importance.
iii. ANALYSIS: In your opinion and based on historical data and
the film, choose one premise to agree on and expound your
answer:
a) The Dictatorial Regime during Martial law was
an effective means of government…
or
b) The Dictatorial Regime during Martial law was
not an effective means of government…
iv. Do you believe that in today’s Society and Government
would be more effectively governed and disciplined if we
were put under a dictatorial regime but under civilian
authority instead of military?? Yes or No Explain your
answer.
