This course is outlined along the four pillars of Self: Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual wellness. In this presentation we will discuss definitions and benefits of each “pillar”. Then we will outline the key values of each pillar. These “key values” are then further explained, and discussed. Exercises and anecdotes are given in some of the notes as well as key notes for discussion. The course is founded on sensibility and wellness. The value to the student is directly proportional to their interest and attention on the application of this material. Knowing about personal pillars is good, living them is essential.
Personal Pillars is total wellness on every level of ones self through the synchronization of core values. Balanced attention to these values and balanced application of best practices for each value results in optimal evolution toward total wellness.

Personal Pillars Personal Pillars Training standardizes the discussion of self into the following four components: physical. emotional, mental and spiritual. Each of these “Pillars” have values that act as focal points in aligned evolution. We will talk in detail on each of these values though out this presentation. PHYSICAL: Focuses on our bodies. The key aspects of physical health: diet, breathing, exercise, and sleep. EMOTIONAL: Focuses on our feelings. The key aspects of emotional health: knowing yourself, loving yourself, loving others, and healing yourself. MENTAL: Focuses on our thoughts. The key aspects of mental health: purpose, perception, attention, and clear, clean thought. SPIRITUAL: Focuses on our spirituality. The key aspects of spiritual health: connecting to your inner purpose, understanding the delineation between your prayers and spiritual process and those of others.
BASIC VALUES: While all values will impact the well-being in each pillar there are a few that have direct impact on all pillars. These are the basic values of These values are a part of each pillar. BASIC: BALANCE: (harmony, equilibrium) To equally and simultaneously integrate the values of each pillar while maintaining a harmonious connection between all values. BASIC: ALIGNMENT: (proper positioning, arraignment, order) To strategically position and arrange the elements of each pillar to increase the unification and strength of each pillar through effective and efficient collaboration. BASIC: SENSITIVITY: (detecting minute differences, awareness, listening) To stay receptive, responsive and aware of self and your environment allows greater objective focus on the process of your evolution. Holding attention to the values requires sensitivity. BASIC: INTEGRITY: (soundness, completeness) To completely support all values of each pillar strengthens your well-being against life challenges. BASIC: CONSISTANCY: (regularity, sustainability) To make sustainable changes to your growth allows for continued, consistent growth in personal evolution.
PILLAR BASICS: BALANCE: Applying equal interest in all values simultaneously weaves a stronger foundation. When your effort and interest is balanced across all of the pillars of Personal Pillars greater progress is made in your evolution. Balanced Foundation is essential to stabilize your evolutionary process. This implies that all pillars need your synchronized interest to develop optimally. Balanced development of the pillars ensures a more stable connection with wholesome self. Peaks in any one pillar are limited when development of other pillars is weak in comparison. PILLAR BASICS: BALANCE: EQUALIZATION: Equal interest and effort to support all pillar values minimizes the effect of a weaker value impacting the growth of a stronger value. PILLAR BASICS: BALANCE: SYNCHRONIZATION: By weaving your efforts with simultaneous interest in all values you create a greater growth in each single value. This is a result of the strength found in the binding unity of all values. Remember the saying “United we stand, divided we fall”? Proper stability and grounding in the formation of the foundation of each pillar is fundamental to the healthy evolution of your aligned life. PILLAR BASICS: BALANCE: HARMONY: Finding harmony in your effort and interest amongst the values of each pillar reduces the possibility of distortion in your evolution. Where a lack of harmony is found you can look for areas of imbalance and take appropriate action.
PILLAR BASICS:ALIGNMENT: Benefit from the values for each pillar is enhanced through their strategic alignment and positioning. As an example: your physical body is impacted by the skeletal and muscular alignment. PILLAR BASICS:ALIGNMENT: STRUCTURE: Understanding organization of the elements of each pillar provides insight into the proper alignment of your efforts in self improvement. PILLAR BASICS:ALIGNMENT: ARRANGEMENT: Efficient arraignment of efforts/actions/interest in the values enhances the effect of the exercises. PILLAR BASICS:ALIGNMENT: POSITIONING: The strategic positioning of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual self through refined coordination of each pillars elements creates efficiencies that support and streamline the benefits. For example better physical coordination reduces bio-mechanic misalignment. EXAMPLE: Increasing physical health may include stretching, exercise and the intake of proper water and nutrients. Strategic alignment can be used to optimize the benefit of each individual effort towards total wellness. Proper order and ratio are possible measures of this strategic alignment. Physical alignment can consist of muscular, nerve, skeletal, and stretching. These can be enhanced through body work like: Acupuncture, Accupressure, Massage, Shiatsu, Paladias, Rolfing, Yoga, Dance, Martial Arts. These forms of practice will heighten multi-dimensional mind/body awareness.
PILLAR BASICS:SENSITIVITY: To feel and discern the nuances of living the values: LISTENING. Being sensitive to the values of each pillar will enhance their benefit to your well-being. PILLAR BASICS:SENSITIVITY: RECEPTIVE: To receive information objectively so that big picture awareness is available before perspective relationship occurs. PILLAR BASICS:SENSITIVITY: RESPONSIVE: The form and shape of response is aided when sensitive to the environment. The sensitive response is more effective and efficient. PILLAR BASICS:SENSITIVITY: AWARENESS: Cognizance of your self and your environment is critical to enhanced experience. The more aware one is the more “alive” one feels. EXAMPLE: EMOTIONAL: To increase your emotional health you may take a look at your cognizance of your feelings. A review of emotional triggers and their impact aids this understanding. Sensitivity can be used to more appropriately detect and handle these triggers. EXERCISES: Choice a pillar and discuss how sensitivity can be used to increase well being and the benefit of that Pillars values.
PILLAR BASICS: INTEGRITY: Integrity is fundamental to all aspects of Personal Pillars, this is the soundness of your practice. This is walking your talk and manifesting your intentions. Equally the integration of all the values of the Personal Pillars are paramount to having complete life Integrity. PILLAR BASICS: INTEGRITY: UNIFORMITY: Uniformity in action across all pillars and through multiple values within a pillar creates strength in evolution. PILLAR BASICS: INTEGRITY: COMMITMENT: Commitment to your potential is essential to the evolution of self. Be all that you are. PILLAR BASICS: CONSISTANCY: Consistency is the steady application of action and interest to the pillar values over time. Consistency allows for ease and pace resulting in efficiency of your effort and enhances long term benefit. Non-sustained peaks of attention have little long term benefit on your life. PILLAR BASICS: CONSISTENCY: REGULARITY : (Steady attention over time) Steady attention over time result in far greater long term benefits. This is classic tortoise and the hare. Subtle sustained changes will have far greater impact in your overall growth than quick fixes that are soon abandoned. PILLAR BASICS: CONSISTANCY: CONTINUITY: (Consistency of lifetime commitments) Make fewer commitments, but those that you make, make for life. For example, in health start with drinking more water. Just two more glasses a day will have a profound impact on your long term health. PILLAR BASICS: CONSISTENCY: CYCLES : (Personal cycle awareness) All people have cycles that effect their ability to evolve in each of the pillars. Understanding your own personal cycles will offer insight into where to apply your attention.
PHYSICAL: VALUES: Your physical well-being directly impacts your emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. Proper maintenance is essential to an energetic experience in life. The physical body also has memory as shape, diet and activity. These memories or habits weave every past action into the potential of choices for your current actions. These help your insight for motivation while refining your physical self. PHYSICAL: NOURISHMENT: (You are what you eat) You act, feel and think better when you have proper nourishment. This is not only food. Nourishment includes water, food, and touch. PHYSICAL: BREATHING: (Oxygen is essential to life) Oxygen is critical to the many chemical exchanges and conversions that take place in metabolism. The action of taking a breath helps in the physical motion of many systems in the body. Watching rhythms can give insight to emotional reactions to your current situation, deep breaths can release tension. PHYSICAL: MOTION: (Movement enhances health) Exercise and motion impact metabolism and cell growth and strength. PHYSICAL: REST: (Sleep is essential to life) There are many physiological and psychological benefits to sleeping. In fact sleep deprivation is a form of torture.
PHYSICAL: NOURISHMENT: <definition and benefits> PHYSICAL: NOURISHMENT: HYDRATION: Lots of water, it is a food group. The single most important step you can take to better heath is to drink plenty of water during the course of your life time.depending on your particular situation 3 liters a day is a minimum. If you are not sure how much you drink try recording your intake for a week. PHYSICAL: NOURISHMENT: NUTRITION: Live & fresh foods. PHYSICAL: NOURISHMENT: BODY TOUCH: Massage, Shiatsu, Holding children, Love making, Hugs.
PHYSICAL: BREATHING: Breathing brings oxygen to the brain and other body parts as well as cycles muscular contractions throughout the abdomen and does micro contractions throughout the whole body. Proper breathing releases tensions and keeps your brain sharper through oxygenation. Globally recognized Doctor Dr. Andrew Weil says: &quot;If I had to limit my advice on healthier living to just one tip, it would be simply to learn how to breathe correctly.&quot; PHYSICAL: BREATHING: DEPTH: The depth and fullness of breath. Breathing deep can relax muscles throughout the body. Breath during stretching can help relax muscles allowing for greater ease in movement. The deeper the breath the greater movement in target areas. Attention to the pauses between the inhalation and the exhalation allow for greater benefit from breathing. PHYSICAL: BREATHING: RHYTHM: Watching breathing rhythm can offer insight into your state of being. Fast shallow breath is a sign of stress. Deep long breaths a sign of more relaxation. Managing your breathing rhythms can create relaxation in your day and positively effect your attitude. PHYSICAL: BREATHING: CONTROL: There are several aspects to breathing: Deep/Shallow, Jerky/Smooth, Regular/Irregular, Fast/Slow, Noisy/Quiet, Mouth/Nose, Forced/Effortless, Voluntary/Involuntary, Nervous/Relaxed, Anxious/Peaceful, Chest/Abdomen, Location of attention from the simple passage of air to the awareness of the interaction with the surroundings, from your immediate purview to the completeness of the universe. Fundamental to fitness is the ease at which your heart can support you and compensate for stresses. A key element of total body fitness is qualified by the range of your Cardio Vascular rhythms. PHYSICAL: REST: <definition and benefits> PHYSICAL: REST: STILLNESS: Meditation and quiet time are important to the chemical balance of the body. PHYSICAL: REST: PATTERNS: Consistency and duration of your rest impact your energy levels and chemical releases in the body. Studies have shown that disrutive sleep patterns increase chances of cancer. PHYSICAL: REST: SLEEPING: How many hours a night do you sleep, how consistent are you in your bed time? Wake time? Do you awake rested and ready to jump out of bed? It is possible. PHYSICAL: REST: NAPS: Both Einstein and Edison took naps. They offered both rest, and insight into their day’s projects.
EMOTIONAL VALUES <definition and benefit> EMOTIONAL: AWARENESS: Being conscious and informed of emotional sensitivities supports a more actualized reality. EMOTIONAL: SELF LOVE: Self Love is the loving of ones self. Deliverance of love to self helps remove outside expectations. EMOTIONAL: EMPATHY: Communication with others is matured by greater perspective and detachment of their emotional state. EMOTIONAL: EMPATHY: <definition and benefits> EMOTIONAL: EMPATHY: HUMILITY: The ability to put your pride in check offers an open view towards others. Where pride is put aside heart unity drives the ride. EMOTIONAL: EMPATHY: CONCERN: The ability to walk in another's shoes without wearing their blisters or becoming that person. EMOTIONAL: EMPATHY: PERSPECTIVE: Empathy allows for added perspective. A 360 degree assessment of those around you allows the ability to see their slant on things. The filters that they use for thought word and action become more obvious. Empathetic perspective allows for detachment: being able to see things as they are without emotional coloring. EMOTIONAL: EMPATHY: DETACHMENT: Empathy does not imply sympathy or sympathetic compassion. Sharing in others feelings with boundaries allows for more objective support.
EMOTIONAL: CLENSING: Emotional Cleansing is the “clearing” of emotional traumas so that you can experience similar situations with the wisdom of your past while not ‘reacting’ to the present in anticipation of the past trauma. This enables you to allow fresh experiences to unfold without forcing expectations of the past on the present. We have all had an experience with someone who was less than kind to us. Can you meet someone who reminds you of that person without some level of prejudice? It could be that the similarity is only a physical trait and that your reaction halts an interaction that otherwise could have been very beneficial to both of you. EMOTIONAL: CLENSING: EGO: Our ego is very interested in ensuring we do not harm ourselves. In many cases this includes hiding the truth from ourselves as it relates to dealing with our own mistakes. Emotional cleansing requires that we confront our ego’s distortions of who we really are. EMOTIONAL: CLENSING: SUBJECTIVITY: We project ourselves onto our environment. This subjectivity creates a distortion of the world to look like we filter it. Facing these subjective tendencies allows a cleaner participation with your environment. The cleaning of ones past experiences aids in the clearing of emotional tinting of your views.
MENTAL VALUES <definition and benefit> MENTAL: INTENTION: The quality of thought origin and its association in ones conscience impacts the ultimate reality. Motivations drive intention and qualifies the source of the intention. Values qualifies the purity of your intentions. MENTAL: OBJECTIVITY: Allows you to access a 360 view and gain perspective flexibility, increasing your range of understanding. A broader perspective increases the range of understanding. SPIRITUAL INTUITION: Intuition is aided by the SPIRITUAL COLLECTIVE ENERGY: SPIRITUAL CURRENT FLOW: The Current flow is derived from the the will and intent of self and others. Of importance is the awareness of the will of self in comparison to the will of your environment, or the micro macro perspective.
SPIRITUAL:VISION: <definition and benefits>Spiritual Vision is like a beacon shining higher minds guiding light. Being able to see the big picture. This helps guide the other pillars when perhaps sensibility is not available. For example if mental clarity is lacking, spiritual vision can help guide through the mental agitation. Spiritual vision is the least contrived forms of relationship available. SPIRITUAL:VISION: SPIRITUAL BEACON: The spiritual beacon is the guiding light of higher intelligence that shines on the pathways of possibility. This is a navigating device of the higher mind. Having vision is a skill that can be developed. SPIRITUAL:VISION: PATHWAYS: Pathways are presented in many forms. Continuity of symbols in dreams, events through the day, or reinforced themes that are a part of your life can show you pathways towards vision. Pathways can also present you with clarification of your visions. SPIRITUAL:VISION: FOCUS: The ability to hold the higher mind on a target that could otherwise be dissuaded by other pillars. This is the ability to maintain a long term value on a vision that holds through interference of the other pillars. SPIRITUAL:VISION: MOTIVATIONAL ACUITY: Clarity of the spiritual vision and understanding of the spiritual beacon that is guiding the vision results in motivational acuity. Motivational acuity is the result of the focused spiritual vision. This is a constant motivation that can overcome a lack of motivation within the other pillars. Spiritual vision holds the big picture motivation through all pillars and the values that support them.
SPIRITUAL: INTUITION: <definition and benefits> Feelings are more complex than thought, meaning they are less contrived, we do not always know what to do with them. When people say go with the flow they are giving heed to the fact that they may not be cognizant or sensitive enough to ascertain the best course of action. Intuition is the eye of spiritual self. It is the hawk that sees the labyrinth. In fact intuition does not always make sense to the other pillars of self when they are not aligned. Your gut feelings my be full of shit. SPIRITUAL: INTUITIVE VISION: CENTERING: Grounding, and in some cases stillness. Day to Day v.s. Vision Quest SPIRITUAL: INTUITIVE VISION: LISTENING: In the listening phase of intuitive vision one moves from a point of grounding into conscious awareness. Open Participation, Conscious activation of the Pituitary gland SPIRITUAL: INTUITIVE VISION: AUTHENTICATION: Discernment of the many signals (Forms of Voice, Symbol, feeling, vision) . SPIRITUAL: INTUITIVE VISION: ACTION: Exercising action. Here the authenticated intuitive sense is moved to action. You must interplay with this faculty to make it real. In fact the more you exercise your intuition in action the stronger intuition becomes.
SPIRITUAL : COLLECTIVE ENERGY: <definition and benefits>For the purposes of this course collective energy is the collection of all conscious and unconscious energies. This embodies the human potential and your personal potential is a subset of this. If is from your own mastery of your personal energy reservoir and your ability to access the universal collective energy that dictate your creative powers and ability to master your personal evolution. Complete awareness of this energy pool allows one maximum potential to evolve ones self. SPIRITUAL : COLLECTIVE ENERGY: CONSOLIDATION: Passion, interest, dreams, experiences and power points of personality, when brought onto a unified awareness allows one to draw from their collective energy. Each of these values hold triggers that can influence the potential of attaining your spiritual vision. SPIRITUAL : COLLECTIVE ENERGY: MICRO?MACRO: Awareness of the large and small aspects of your life and the environments messages to you offers insight and directions that allow for greater ease in your path. Examples of Macro are major events in your life like birth, death, major illness, and windfalls. Great example of micro events are like the butterfly or dragonfly effect. SPIRITUAL : COLLECTIVE ENERGY: UNCONSCIOUS: All people have the potential to focus their energy for the creation of reality, not all focuses are similar. The individual’s energy is in play with the larger collectives conscious and unconscious energies and awareness. This interaction is the topic of the next slide: Current Flow. EXERCISE: To consolidate your collective energy imaging getting the following five people at a table: your kindergarten teacher, for passion, your college professor, for interest, your artist teacher, for dreams, your employer for experiences and your spouse or partner for personality power points. In your imagination have each outlines what you do best, write these points on a piece of paper. Know look at this list, free from their perspectives and consolidate your potential by outlining a vision for yourself.
SPRITUAL: CURRENT FLOW: <definition and benefits> The universal collective energy is like a river, with currents, eddies and calms. Understanding this flow enables one to move and participate in a more effortless manner. The components include that of your personal will, the collective will of humans, the collective will of earth and that of the solar system and further out: that of the universe. All of these aspects have interactions that dictate, to some extent, your experience here and now. The great abundance of hydrogen gas gives NGC 2237 its red color in most photographs . The wind from the open cluster of stars known as NGC 2244 has cleared a hole in the nebula's center. The above photograph , however, was taken in the light emitted by three elements of the gas ionized by the energetic central stars. Here green light originating from oxygen and blue light originating from sulfur supplements the red from hydrogen. Filaments of dark dust lace run through the nebula's gases. The origin of recently observed fast-moving molecular knots in the Rosette Nebula remains under investigation.
