The 5th mode of transportation
Presented By:

NMREC
 This type of technology
was first invented by the
British mechanical
engineer, GEORGE
WENGER in the year
1812.
 Later it was developed
and redesigned by a
billionaire ELON MUSK in
the year 2012.
 Hyperloop is a proposed
mode of passenger and
freight transportation by a
joint team of Tesla and
SpaceX.
 A Hyperloop is a sealed tube
through which a pod may
travel free of air resistance
or friction conveying people
or goods at high speeds and
very efficiently.
WHOSE IDEA?
WHAT IS HYPERLOOP?
MAIN COMPONENTS
Low pressure tube
Capsule
Propulsion
LOW PRESSURE TUBE
 The tube is made of steel. Two tubes will be welded
together side by side configuration to allow the capsules
to travel in both directions.
 Pylons are placed for every 30m to support the tube.
 Solar arrays will cover the top of the tubes in order to
provide power to the system.

 CAPSULE  Each capsule carries 28
passengers and that travel
along the interior of the
tube.
 Specifications:
 Maximum width - 1.35m
 Maximum height - 1.10m
 Capsule can travel at a
maximum speed of
1220kmph at 20 degrees
temperature.
CONT,
 Operating pressure around the capsule is 100pa, such that it
reduces the drag force by 1000 times relative to sea level
conditions.
 A hard vacuum is avoided as vacuums are expensive and
difficult to maintain compared with low pressure solutions.
 Capsule can travel at a maximum speed of 1220kmph at 20
degrees temperature.

  • 7. PROPULSION  Linear accelerators are constructed along the length of the tube at various locations to accelerate the capsules.  Stators are located on the capsules to transform momentum to the capsule via linear accelerators.
  • 8. WORKING PRINCIPLE  An underground or above ground pylon-supported tube will create a "special environment" — a low pressure system — through which passenger pods will travel with very little air pressure to slow them down.  An electric air compressor fan on the front of the pod will transfer high air pressure from its front to the rear and sides of the vessel. This will reduce friction in front of the pod, help propel it and create an air cushion around it, so that the pod is suspended in the air within the tube. So-called air bearings — which work on the same basic principle as an air hockey table — will replace wheels that would not work at the required high speeds.
  • 9. ADVANTAGES  Ready when the passenger is ready to travel.  Inexpensive.  Very fast and time saving.  Sustainable and eco-friendly. DISADVANTAGES  Limited number of passengers can travel.  Design and construction costs are very high.
  • 10. HYPERLOOP IN INDIA  Hyperloop transportation technologies(HTT) bags first project in India by Andhrapradesh government between the two cities Amaravathi and Vijayawada.  Connection is expected to bring the travel time down to 5 minutes as opposed to current travel time 1 hour.
