  3. 3. VERBAL COMMUNICATION • Use of sound and language to relay a massage. • An effective way of explaining intangible concept.
  4. 4.  Important consideration – 1) Rules govern communication in negotiation interaction in following ways:- a) many of rules are generated through the negotiation interaction. b) rules may be generated in a pre-negotiation stage.
  5. 5. 3) Communication function to Exchange information Identify patterns of behaviour 4) Communication in negotiation focuses on substantive issues. Procedural issues. Interpersonal negotiation relationship. Intangible issues

  7. 7. Communication (having) No words • All behavior expressed consciously or unconsciously in front of others and perceived by others. • Expressed through gestures ,postures etc.
  8. 8. Various parts of non verbal comm.:- • Sign language (symbols and signs) • Para language like language ( i.e.. How a speaker speaks) • Body language or kinesics • Proxemics or space language • Chronemics or time language
  9. 9. Importance of non-verbal comm. In negotiation • Speedy • Prompt and easy feedback • Creates interest(colorful pictures,paintings etc)
