A LOCKOUT MEANS –
•Temporary closing of a place of employment
•Suspension of work
•Refusal by an employer to continue to
employ any number of persons employed by

& not closure of business itself.
•Lockout is usually used by the employer as a
weapon in his hand .
Following lockouts are prohibition which is
1)Without giving notice in prescribed manner,
within 6 weeks before locking out .
2) within 14 days of giving such notice .
