  8. 8. And you shall love the Lord, your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. Take to heart these instructions with which I charge you this day. Impress them upon your children. Recite them when you stay at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them serve as a symbol on your forehead; inscribe them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Thus you should remember to do all these commandments and to be holy to your God, I am Adonai, you God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. 13. 13. Silent Meditation Do not think that the words of prayer as you say them, go up to God. It is not the words themselves that ascend, it is rather the burning desire of your heart that rises like smoke towards heaven. If your prayer consists only of words and letters and does not contain your heart’s desire, how can it rise up to God? Rav Nachman of Breslav 13

Thanksgiving With all of the things that bombard us on a daily basis, it can take tremendous effort to remember our blessings and not take them for granted. We often have to sneak in moments of rest, resolve, and happiness. It is often to easy to focus on the negative and apply energy to these seemingly urgent matters or moments much of which leave us feeling drained and open to misery, frustration, and distress.
