3. I used a very basic search engine –
Google, to research magazine and
posters. This was very beneficial as I
recognise Google, thus it was easy for me
to research, analyse and familiarise
myself with the forms and conventions of
magazines and posters.
I was also very familiar with YouTube,
thus I was very comfortable in
researching a variety of
suspense/thriller teaser trailers to give
me an understanding of the forms and
concepts that are used in these
specific genres, which I could then use
to incorporate into my own teaser.
4. I also used Ask Jeeves for my
research stages, this isn't a
search engine which I usually
use. However I used this to
research low budget films. This
was a very useful as it had
different links to websites
where I was able to analyse
and research different low
budget films consisting of the
same/similar genre as my film.
I received sufficient
information about the forms of
low budget films.
5. During my construction stages I was a little
confused and needed some help with my For my research stage I used my
magazine and poster. I thought the best iPhone to take pictures for my
thing to do in this case would be to receive storyboard evaluation. This allowed
ideas from my target audience. Thus I used me to produce good quality images
hotmail to send out an email and received and was very convenient as I was able
ample suggestions. to transport images from home to my
college computers using my usb.
I used a Sony video camera to film my teaser. I found
this straightforward as I had some experience in using
this from my preliminary task in AS. For example I did
not face difficulties with inserting or taking out the
video tape as I did in my preliminary task.
6. To construct my magazine and poster I used Adobe
Photoshop cs3. This was my first time using Photoshop.
To begin with I found it difficult to use, however I then
researched on YouTube how to create a magazine cover,
and received sufficient information as I learnt basic skills
needed to create my magazine and poster.
I was overall satisfied with the outcomes of my magazine
and poster, given the fact that I used this software for
the very first time.
7. From researching posters, I found that one of the conventions was
the narrow font used for the production credits. This is called ‘thin
ultra condensed’. I used Google to research this font and found a
website where you can create your production credits using the
specific font. (http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/linotype/univers/39-
thin-ultra-condensed) however in order for me to use this font I
had to purchase it. Therefore I used Photoshop to
create a similar effect, I used the font
Birch std which worked out well as it was
narrow and also had a sinister effect which
further helped portray the genre of the film.
8. For my sound I used Soundbase, this was my first
time using this software therefore I am aware that my
sound maybe not be as professional, however my
teaser is for a low budget film thus it will be as
professional as a Hollywood film. To begin with I
wanted to use music which was produced by
someone else using a consent form. However I then
changed my mind and wanted to challenge myself
and attempt to create my own piece of music. For
this reason i was pleased with my overall outcome as
I struggled but did manage to produce my own music.
For my editing I used Final Cut, this again was my
first time using this software. At first I struggled with
it but eventually I got the hang of it and was able to
use the different transitions to create effective
editing, e.g.
using the fade transition to change
from one shot to another, giving
it a consistent flow.

feedback forms for my receive feedback from my used Slideshare to present
teaser trailer. This was very audience about my my final work with. I found
practical as I was able to ancillary tasks. this simple to use as I also
distribute this to many used it for my storyboard
people to evaluate my evaluation.
