Mary Kay Mouton’s miniature quilt is only 18-1/2”, the sampler blocks in the border are 1-1/2" and the large center 32-point Mariner's Compass is 3-1/2", all done to demonstrate the precision and range of Mary Kay’s technique, Flip-Flop Paper Piecing. Mary Kay uses white to showcase her excellent paper piecing, restricting her only other colors to black and red. I saw this quilt at the East Cobb Quilt Show in Sept. 2009 and it took my breath away.
