  2. 2.  Locate the injury.  Stop the bleeding!  Determine the need for a doctor  Remove foreign debris  Sterilize the wound  Apply a dressing and bandage to the wound
  3. 3. STEPS TO STOP SEVERE BLEEDING 1.Lie down. 2.Remove any debris 3.Apply pressure steadily 4.Apply firm pressure directly to the wound until the bleeding stops 5.Look for seepage from the wound. 6.Monitor the breathing.
  4. 4. A bleeding open wound in the head , neck, arm, or leg should be raised above heart level and direct pressure continued.
  5. 5. - refers to an area on the human body that may produce significant pain or other effects when manipulated in a specific manner.
  6. 6.  INTERNAL BLEEDING • bleeding that can't be seen on the outside of the body, medical personnel tend to use terms that describe more precisely where inside the body the bleeding is found. • Signs of Internal Bleeding: -vomited or coughed-up blood -blood in the urine or stools
  7. 7.  1. If the person is unconcious, vomiting, or bleeding from the mouth, place the person on her/his side to prevent choking.  2. Keep the person comfortably warm.  3. DO NOT let the person eat or drink.  4. Get medical help immediately.
