  14. 14. @SilviaSimonR @IceUdG @QuimicaUdG Although instructors and students do not agree in some points, it is important to notice that in general the teaching methodology, in the sense of material for the lectures, is not a disrupting issue. The way of teaching and learning at university level is changing, but in a real slow speed
  15. 15. @SilviaSimonR @IceUdG @QuimicaUdG Activities
  16. 16. @SilviaSimonR @IceUdG @QuimicaUdG Students clearly prefer face to face activities. Surprisingly, students still have more preference more “classic”, based on face to face activities.
  17. 17. @SilviaSimonR @IceUdG @QuimicaUdG What is teaching/learning virtualization?
  18. 18. @SilviaSimonR @IceUdG @QuimicaUdG StudentsInstructors
  19. 19. @SilviaSimonR @IceUdG @QuimicaUdG We expected more break-up responses, is not a disrupting issue. University environment is relatively slow in responding to the innovation. Students group continues to think that classical teaching, more or less masterful, combined with activities prior to or after class activity, is the preferred one. The university continues to be anchored in this paradigm: a given space, an assigned time interval, a responsible teacher. So, we can conclude:
  20. 20. @SilviaSimonR @IceUdG @QuimicaUdG Changing day by day - Change the obligation of physical presence due to the 'obligation to follow the training activities – Changing the concept of “I have class …” - Consider teaching activity and teaching as a communicative activity, and therefore having the appropriate interpersonal communication skills - Break the current structure of the web of the universities, oriented to face-to-face students, and create a new one for students, teachers and virtual visitors.
  21. 21. @SilviaSimonR @IceUdG @QuimicaUdG A step ahead: Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education Will AI replace university lecturers? learning or consuming contents? Mark Haw, in The Guardian website, https://www.theguardian.com/education/2019/sep/06/will-ai- replace-university-lecturers-not-if-we-make-it-clear-why-humans-matter,
  22. 22. @SilviaSimonR @IceUdG @QuimicaUdG A step ahead: Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education Will A.I. be a threat to university instructors? Interpersonal communication will always be of utmost value?
  23. 23. @SilviaSimonR @IceUdG @QuimicaUdG - AI in HE can be perfect as the challenges of each student are more clearly identified and thus optimal procedures may be suggested and implemented - Create student-bots for teacher training, and teacher-bots for student training. - Keep a comprehensive record of all the university activities that allow real and virtual entities (ie, the robots) to have the information necessary for decision making.
