  2. 2. New ways to disseminate science in pandemic times  Lots of cancellations of face-to-face activities  No high-school workshops  Street science fairs postponed  Online tools may mimic them. How to mimic them best?
  3. 3. Online tools  Time better spent  More oral communication possibilities  More meeting attendace opportunities  Online skills gained
  4. 4. Continuously improvind tools  Wealth of tools like Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Blackboard Collaborate, etc. However,  No tool is suitable for all activities and tasks  Lack of control of what participants see  Difficulty to assess own's image  Need to record sessions  More professional-looking production  Low cost in terms of energy, time, money

Simple studio streaming tools  May be local to personal computer: e.g., OBS (mulitple cameras), Ecamm, ...  Using remote participants as multiple cameras: StreamYard, BeLive, ReStream, ...  Simple studio production  Allow for easy branding  Interconnection with youtube and facebook live comments  Appealing, easy banners and comments  Browser-based, no local installation

Why not copying commercial TV magazines?  Availability of studio production tools to livestream all kind of activities and multiple remote cameras and participants allow to produce commercial TV- like magazines.  StreamYard allows for 10 simultaneous people in the backstage – and on stage  Interaction with remote viewers through Facebook and Youtube comments

Use in teaching  For 1st year of Science degrees at the University of Girona, oral communication techniques tought as round tables.  Round tables are especially suitable for studio streaming services like StreamYard.  Students have rated very high experimental sessions using this tools  1st-year students lack oral communication tools – both face-to-face and online
