  1. 1. Objectives: <ul><li>To be able to plan and prepare your ‘drama focus’ speaking and listening piece… </li></ul>

Today: <ul><li>Speaking & Listening: Drama focus </li></ul><ul><li>A short scripted scene, inspired by an actual scene from the play </li></ul><ul><li>May extend or develop a scene </li></ul><ul><li>Could be ‘before’ events of the play, or ‘after’ </li></ul><ul><li>Might be a ‘hidden scene’; something referred to but not seen </li></ul>
  3. 3. What I will be looking for: <ul><li>Create and sustain a role; make it believable and involving for an audience </li></ul><ul><li>Use voice, facial expression, gesture and movement to enhance the role </li></ul><ul><li>Use some interesting techniques to make the piece involving for an audience </li></ul>
  4. 4. Format: <ul><li>Decide on groupings </li></ul><ul><li>Discuss where/ when the scene should take place </li></ul><ul><li>Agree on characters and who will play them </li></ul><ul><li>Write up an outline of the scene </li></ul><ul><li>Begin to script the scene </li></ul><ul><li>Read through lines; time it </li></ul><ul><li>Block scene; practice and rehearse </li></ul><ul><li>Perform! </li></ul>
