  3. 3. * Email is an electronic mail. It is the sending and receiving of typewritten messages from one screen to another. Email is usually handled by a webmail service. *
  4. 4. *Wiki is a piece of server software that allows users to freely create and edit Web page content using any Web browser. It supports hyperlinks and has a simple text syntax for creating new pages and crosslinks between internal pages on the fly. *
  5. 5. * Social bookmarking is a the specific form of social media. Social bookmarking is where users interact by recommending websites to each other ('tagging sites'). *
  6. 6. *A Podcast is an audio program, like a radio show, that is made by someone and then posted to the Internet for you to download and listen to via iTunes or your iPhone/iPod. Most of them are free for you to download and listen to. *
  7. 7. * Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is the programmatic language that web pages are based on. HTML commands your web browser to display text and graphics in orderly fashion. HTML uses commands called 'HTML tags' *
  8. 8. * Stands for "Voice Over Internet Protocol,” it is basically a telephone connection over the Internet. The data is sent digitally, using the Internet Protocol (IP) instead of analog telephone lines. This allows people to talk to one another long-distance and around the world without having to pay long distance or international phone charges. *
  9. 9. * Online chat may refer to any kind of communication over the Internet that offers a real-time of text messages from sender to receiver. * Online transmission chat may address point-to-point communications as well as multicast communications from one sender to many receivers and voice and video chat, or may be a feature of a web conferencing service. *
  10. 10. * The World Wide Web is another way to describe the Internet, which is a network of computers which are connected and that share information and allow communication around the world. *
  11. 11. * Data streaming, commonly seen in the forms of audio and video streaming, is when a multimedia file can be played back without being completely downloaded first. *
  12. 12. * Short for "Web Log," this term refers to a list of journal entries posted on a Web page. A blog ('web log') is a modern online writer's column. *
  13. 13. * Social networking websites allow users to be part of a virtual community. The two most popular sites are currently Facebook and Twitter. These websites provide users with simple tools to create a custom profile with text and pictures *
  14. 14. * URL's, or 'uniform resource locators', are the web browser addresses of internet pages and files. A URL works together with IP addresses to help us name, locate, and bookmark specific pages and files for our web browsers. *
  15. 15. * A web feed (or news feed) is a data format used for providing users with frequently updated content. *
