Rhetoric is the art of persuasion. Rhetorical analysis involves studying persuasive methods. There are three main rhetorical methods: pathos which appeals to emotions, ethos which relies on credibility or ethics, and logos which uses reasoning and logic. Rhetorical techniques can be straightforward like careful wording or use of qualifiers, or manipulative like bandwagon appeals or half-truths. Effective rhetoric considers the purpose, audience, and uses techniques like literary devices, anecdotes, analogies, or questions to make persuasive arguments.
