Karragarra and Lamb part 5

  1. 1. If you lived on Lamb Island you would be 1 of 300 or so residents.
  2. 2. You can buy convenience items from a small store on Lamb.
  3. 3. This is Lambs’ jetty carpark
  4. 4. ADSL 1 & 2, 3G broadband, Foxtel. And a view.......
  5. 5. At low tide take your tinny to the sandbars. Fish, play with the kids, gad about.
  6. 6. You can go diving because there’s man made wrecks off Stradbroke Island.
  7. 7. On Lamb and Karragarra you live in your own little world. How good is that!
  8. 8. Living on Lamb and Karragarra is like you enjoying a permanent holiday in a small unspoilt coastal town that’s still the way it was back before the rest of the world went crazy. Ok. I did pinch that line. But imho its true.
  9. 9. Lamb has a member run bowls club with a liquor licence but no bowling greens(hey, it’s about priorities)
  10. 10. More recently there’s been an influx of younger families looking for some safety and security away from the hustle and bustle of mainland Australia.
  11. 11. Lamb is 2km long & up to 1km wide
  12. 12. If you’re into boating or fishing then this is the perfect place for you.
  13. 13. The mangroves provide an important habitat for the mud crabs, sand crabs and prawns that you’d like to catch.
  14. 14. Moreton Bay has 360 islands to explore with less than 10 inhabited. Grab your tinny and get going.
  15. 15. Buy yourself a catamaran for under $10000 & go sailing
  16. 16. That’s where your “all over island” sea breeze comes from.
  17. 17. Bird watching will keep you busy as there’s 200 species to find, some of them endangered.
  18. 18. Sea eagles are known to nest on Lamb. They have 1 mate for life and return each year.
