  3. 3. <ul><li>Think of someone with whom you have had a positive therapeutic relationship… </li></ul><ul><li>What was that person like???? </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>They listened to me </li></ul><ul><li>They trusted me </li></ul><ul><li>They did not judge me </li></ul><ul><li>They did not leave </li></ul><ul><li>They cared about me </li></ul><ul><li>They showed me how to be </li></ul><ul><li>They let me make mistakes </li></ul><ul><li>They laughed with me </li></ul><ul><li>They were excited for my successes </li></ul><ul><li>They were supportive with my failures </li></ul>

  12. 12. <ul><li>Create safety in the relationship-reduce the barriers between others and me so they can reveal themselves more fully </li></ul><ul><li>Accept the feelings/attitudes/values of the other person </li></ul><ul><li>Be open to the realities/learning in me and the other person, and the urge to “fix it” will be lessened </li></ul>
