  3. 3. Evolution • Print journalism – Newspapers – Magazines • Radio Broadcasting – Radio Hams • Television • Internet – Websites, Social Media, Messaging apps, Podcasts
  4. 4. Present trend in Internet • Commercial use started in Aug 1995 • 31% penetration in India (432 Million) • Changing reading style and habit – People want brief contents - More images and visuals preferred
  5. 5. What is special? • Every citizen is a journalist • User Generated Content (UGC) • Lack of reliability – fake news & rumours • Immediate Delivery of contents
  6. 6. Three Steps in creating a good article for digital media
  7. 7. First step – Gather information • Who are the likely readers • What is the topic / theme • Gather all information (relevant or irrelevant) • Size of the article (No of words)
  8. 8. Second Step - Preparation • Structure the content with main theme in the opening – Use small paragraphs – Use images and graphics • Remember 5 W and 1 H – Who, Where, When, What, Why and How • Use title and Sub-title for clarity
  9. 9. Second Step - Preparation • Write as a third person - Grammar, punctuation, tense are important. • Use quotes • There should not be any factual errors .
  10. 10. Second Stage - Preparation • cyber law compliance - No copy right violation – Avoid plagiarism. • Do not copy and paste. Mention source, if some facts are used. • Keep in mind that the audience prefers minimum words and more visuals.
  11. 11. Third Stage - Publication • Before publication, ensure that the story/article is understood by common man. • Get it edited by another person. • Release through the medium and promote. • Watch out for feedback

  13. 13. DiJAI – New Scheme for students • DiJAI Students Forum members may submit articles before 20th of every month. • Articles should be in English or Tamil not exceeding 500 words. • Every month DiJAI will announce the theme of the month. For September 2017, the theme is ‘UNSUNG HEROES”

DiJAI – New Scheme • The student members may feature anybody from their area, who has achieved or contributed to the welfare of the society silently. • The article (English or Tamil) with relevant photos or graphics in word document should reach us by 20th September 2017. • Tamil should be in Unicode
  15. 15. DiJAI – New Scheme • The article should be authored only by one student. joint work not allowed. • The article should be sent by email to editor@corpezine.com
  16. 16. DiJAI – New Scheme • The selected articles will be published in our site along with the photograph of the student. • Theme will be announced on 1st of every month . Students can submit articles every month before the last date. • Best article/s (submitted up to April 2018) will be honoured during Sansad Ratna Award event in 2018.
