Protea Hotel Sea Point Launch

  1. 1. THE NEW PROTEA HOTEL SEA POINT ON TRACK TO REOPEN DOORS ON 1 SEPTEMBER August 2013: Construction work on the new Protea Hotel Sea Point is on track and the hotel will be opening its doors again on September 1. While the exterior structure of the Protea Hotel Sea Point has remained intact in its prime location less than 100m from the sea, the interior has been all but gutted to create what is effectively a new hotel. The new public areas will show off a fresh face of nautical colours, granite, marble and a communal area ideal for socializing, relaxing, get-togethers or work. The public area between the lounge, bar and dining area has been opened up to allow for more comfortable seating whilst maintaining intimate spaces for dining and meetings. The hotel’s restaurant patio is also being redone with comfortable beach house style furniture and loads of greenery to ensure that diners get that seaside holiday feeling – even if they’re travelling on business! In fact, that’s what the hotel is aiming for, says Danny Bryer, Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue for the Protea Hospitality Group, describing an interior that is guaranteed to beat the corporate blues and provide a freshly different experience. All the rooms in the hotel are also getting a new, more environmentally friendly air- conditioning system. Among the in-room changes all the sea-facing rooms are brand new and enjoy a tranquil leisure feel whilst incorporating modern amenities that meet the exacting needs of business and leisure travellers respectively. The family rooms are more spacious and offer greater flexibility with the option of four single beds or two double beds; ideally suited for families and groups. What remains the same is the authentic and personalized GUEST service and the central location of the hotel to the beautiful beaches, Cape Town’s famous attractions and the city centre. Bryer says the Protea Hotel Sea Point will provide the newest and freshest hotel rooms in Cape Town. “This refurbishment is the fourth on the Atlantic Seaboard in Cape Town since 2011 and is among approximately 20 Protea Hotels in South Africa that have been refurbished in the same period. “It’s an ongoing process to ensure, with our property owners, that our brand standard remains world class. In the two-year period some R500 million has been invested in property improvements of hotels within the Protea Hospitality Group and it’s a process of improvement that will continue,” Bryer said. We look forward to showcasing and welcoming back our CLIENTS and regular GUESTS and acquiring new ones with this new and fresh product offering. Follow us on twitter@ProteaHotels.
