  2. 2. Anatoly Parfenov was born in 1924 in the village of Dvornikovo. After finishing a vocational school in Voskresensk, he worked as a mechanic at the spinning and weaving factory named after Tzurupa.

  4. 4. He started wrestling only after the Great Patriotic War, in 1951, by accident. Just three months later took the third place in the championship of Moscow. Three years later, he won the championship of the USSR and became a Master of Sport.
  5. 5. At the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne he fought in the weight category over 87 kilograms. In the first round he won Wilfred Dietrich (Germany) by the decision of the referees with the score 2-1; in the second round he lost to Bertil Antossonu by the decision of the referees with the score 3-0; He won in the third round due to the absenteeism of the opponent (M. ALISHEV, Bulgaria); in the fourth round he was not involved; in the fifth round he won Adelmo Bulgarelli (Italy) 3-0 and due to the victory over Wilfried Dietrich (having an equal number of penalty points) became the Olympic champion.
  6. 6. Champion of the USSR in 1954 and 1957. After finishing his sports career in 1964, started coaching. Among his pupils is a famous wrestler Nikolai Balboshin. In 1967 he graduated from Moscow State Institute of Physical Culture. He acted in a Gestapo officer in the television series "Seventeen Moments of Spring". He died in 1993 in Moscow. He was buried in the cemetery of the village Marinka in Voskresensk district.
