Published on

EcoUrbanism is about wholesystem thinking, taking in consideration existing natural and cultural structures and using them as point of departure in planning and design at the Bergen School of Architecture in Norway. This master course has focused on urban situations in Bergen and in Floroe on the west coast of Norway.

The Bergen School of Architecture is a private, academic and pedagogic alternative to the traditional polytechnic educational facilities producing architects.

Students enrolled here are accepted through a personal interview and review of a creative, personal portfolio. The students are highly motivated and travel extensively throughout the 5 years of study. The 2nd day of study starts with 4 weeks on a small island, far out west - where the icecap melted and settlers first came to Scandinavia.
