Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer Unity Health System 9:00-9:15 Introductions
Mr. Hern is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Unity Health
System, Rochester, N.Y., having held the CFO position for the last twenty five years.
He is also President of for-profit operations for Unity Health System and Trustee for Presentations
Unity Health Foundation, Inc., as well as Corporate Compliance Officer.
Mr. Hern served as National Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Healthcare Financial 10:00-10:15 Break
Management Association (HFMA) during the 1996-97 year and prior to that served in various officer
positions and on the Board of Directors.
Mr. Hern's work with other organizations includes Chairman of the Fiscal Directors' Committee, Rochester Presentations
Area Hospitals' Corporation (1986-89); Chairman of the CFO Committee, and Rochester Regional
Hospital Association (1989-1992). He is currently a Trustee and Chairman of the Finance Committee of
CP Rochester, a member of the JPMorgan Chase Rochester Region Advisory Board and the Healthcare 12:00 Lunch &
Association of New York State (HANYS) Finance Committee, as well as Trustee of the Greater Rochester Awards

Mr. Hern holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from Rochester Institute of Technology (1979)

Her years of experience lending to nonprofits and her service on the F.F. Thompson
Foundation Board of Directors was what led Deborah K. Weymouth, then vice
president of Key Bank in Rochester, to leave behind a career in banking and join

Since her appointment as Thompson Health’s Chief Financial Officer in 2004, Ms. Weymouth has

gross revenues of approximately $95 million. She is credited with helping Thompson achieve a positive Mercantile Adjustment

A fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and member of the HANYS Finance
Committee, Ms. Weymouth is also active in her community, where she is founder/head coach of the
Canandaigua Aquatics Swim Team. Earlier this year, The Rochester Chapter of Financial Executives
International and the Rochester Business Journal named her “Financial Executive of the Year” in the
category of Small Not-for-Profit organizations.
