Cradle my heart

  1. 1. CRADLE MY HEART {{{ Rumi }}}
  2. 2. Last night,
  3. 3. I was lying on the rooftop,
  4. 4. thinking of you.
  5. 5. I saw a special Star,
  6. 6. and summoned her to take you a message.
  7. 7. I prostrated myself to the Star
  8. 8. and asked her to take my prostration
  9. 9. to that Sun of Tabriz.
  10. 10. So that with his light, he can turn
  11. 11. my dark stones into gold.
  12. 12. I opened my chest and showed her my scars,
  13. 13. I told her to bring me news
  14. 14. of my bloodthirsty Lover.
  15. 15. As I waited,
  16. 16. I paced back and forth,
  17. 17. until the child of my heart became quiet.
  18. 18. The child slept, as if I were rocking his cradle.
  19. 19. Oh Beloved, give milk to the infant of the heart,
  20. 20. and don't hold us from our turning.
  21. 21. You have cared for hundreds,
  22. 22. don't let it stop with me now.
  23. 23. At the end, the town of unity is the place for the heart.
  24. 24. Why do you keep this bewildered heart
  25. 25. in the town of dissolution?
  26. 26. I have gone speechless, but to rid myself
  27. 27. of this dry mood,
  28. 28. oh Saaqhi, pass the narcissus of the wine.
