• One of the 29 states of India.
• Its capital and largest city is Chennai ( Madras).
• It lies in the southernmost part of the Indian subcontinent and is
bordered by the union territory of Puducherry and the South
Indian states of Kerala, Karnataka, & Andhra Pradesh.
• It is bounded by the Eastern Ghats on the north, by the Nilgiri
Mountains, the Meghamalai Hills, and Kerala on the west, by
the Bay of Bengal in the east, by the Gulf of Mannar and the Palk
Strait on the southeast, and by the Indian Ocean on the south. The
state shares a maritime border with the nation of Sri Lanka.
• It Is the 11th largest Indian state by area and the 6th largest by
population.
• The economy of Tamil Nadu is the 2nd largest state economy in
India with ₹17.25 lakh crore(US$250 billion)
in GDP after Maharashtra .
• Its official language is Tamil .
• There are 7 Airports in Tamil Nadu.
• The region was ruled by several empires, including the 3 great
empires – Chola, Chera, and Pandyan empires, which shape the
region's cuisine, culture, and architecture.
• There are 32 districts in Tamil Nadu.
• Tamil Nadu is known as the temple state of India.
• There are about 33,000 ancient temples.
• Most of these are dedicated to lord Shiva and Bhairava.
• Many temples are dedicated to lord Vishnu, lord Murugan and
lord Hanuman.
• Many temples are at least 800-5000 years old.
• There are 38615 temples(as per Tamil Nadu Hindu Endowments board )
• Dedicated to Hindu god Vishnu.
• Located in Thiruvallur, Chennai .
• Constructed in Dravidian style of architecture.
• It is counted as one among the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to
Vishnu. Vishnu is worshipped as Veeraraghava Perumal and his
consort Lakshmi as Kamalavalli Thayar.
• The chariot festival and float festival, celebrated during month
of Chittirai (Mar–Apr)
Legend: Vishnu appeared in the place to marry Lakshmi, who was
born as the daughter of Dilipa, the king of Dharmasenapura. He
appeared in the place and married her. The place is also called
Thiruevvul and Veshranniem.

How to reach :
Mylapore is a Central area in the city of Chennai.
By rail : from Chennai Cenral Train station which is 5km
away from temple.
Buses, cabs, auto rickshaws can also be taken in plenty to reach.
• Dedicated to hindu god SHIVA located in Mylapore, Chennai.
• The form of Shiva's consort Parvati worshipped at this temple is
called Karpagambal("Goddess of the Wish-Yielding Tree“)
• Cunstrusted in Dravidian style architecture.
(The original temple structure is said to have been destroyed by the Portuguese in the 16th
century AD. St. Thomas Cathedral Basilica, Chennai was then built in the place where the
original temple structure stood.)
• The 10-day festival during March / April is a treat to watch and
Arubathu Moovar festival is attended by lakhs of devotees every
year.
Brahma and Shiva at top of Mt. Kailash Brahma failed to show
thedue respect to Shiva. Due to this, Shiva plucked of one of
Brahma's heads (kapalams) Brahma came down to the site of
Mylapore and installed a Lingam to please Shiva.
This place is known as "Kailaye Mayilai and Mayilaye Kayilai "which
means this place is equal to kailash.
Brahma had worshipped here to get rid of his ego and get back his
power .
The 4 Vedas have worshipped here. Sukracharya worshipped the Lord here and got back his
lost eye. Rama has worshipped here and won the war against Ravana and brought back Sita
from Lanka.

How to reach:
BY AIR : Nearest airport is chennai international airport (15km).
BY TRAIN : nearest railway station in chennai railway station (6.4km).
You can also hire a cab or a car and also can use the public transport.
• Temple located in Kancheepuram is one of the panch bhootha
sthala (five elements- Earth,Sky,Air,Water).
• Constructed in Dravidian style architecture.
• The temple has 6 daily rituals at various times from 5:30 a.m. to 10
p.m., and 12 yearly festivals on its calendar. Panguni Uthiram festival
celebrated for 13 days during March - April is the most prominent
festival.
legend : goddess kamakshi performed a strict penance for Lord Shiva, by stranding on a single leg under a
mango tree beside vegavathi river. Kamaksha devi had passed through many tests created by Shiva . To test the
quality of the penance, Lord Shiva sent fire on her, she then sought help, brother Vishnu showered moon ray to
cool the fire.
Goddess kamakshi made Shiva linga and continued with her penance for many years. Impressed by the penance,
Lord Shiva married Goddess kamakshi.
• This temple has 5 spacious corridor and a beautiful 1000
pillared hall.
• This temple has 1008 Shiva Lingas.
• Ancient mango tree which is if 3500 year is located in the
temple .
• This tree has 4 branches, which represens 4 vedas(Rig veda,
Yajur Veda, Sama Veda, Atharva Veda). Fruits from the 4 branches
will be of diffrent tastes.
• Currently this tree is kept under closed glass walls.

How to reach :
Temple is 2 km from kanchipuram Bus Station.
Temple is 108 km from triupati. Direct bus to kanchi is available from Tirupati at regular intervals.
From chennai, temple is 80 km away.
Temple is at a walk able distance (600mt) from from Kanchipuram Railway station.
• Dedicated to Lord Shiva which is located in the Vellore
Fort, Tamil Nadu.
• This temple was built in the Vijaynagar period.
• Counstructed in Vijayanagara architecture.
• This temple is under the control of the Archaeological Survey
of India( ASI).
Behind the Nandi statue, there is an earthen lamp, which is said to revolve when
some people place their hands on it. The revolving is said to indicate that their wishes
have been granted. Some devotees of the temple worship the golden and silver lizard
sculptures and the snake sculptures in order to get relief from 'sarpa dosham’
Festivals:
• 10 day Chitra Poornima (Apr- May ) Surasamharam in Aipasi( Oct-
Nov).
• 10 day Aadipooram (July- Aug), Vinayaka Chaturthi in Avani (Aug-
Sep).
• Novarathi during ( Sep- Oct ) and all Saturday during this period,
are the festivals devotionally celebrated in the temple.
• All the 3 Lords with their consorts- lord Vishnu with mata
Mahalakshmi, Lord Brahmma with mata Saraswati and Lord Shiva
with mata parvati grace the devotees in the temple.

By Air : The nearest airport is at Tirupati which is 128km away. Chennai international airport is 140 km
away.
By Train : The direct train is available Chennai to Vellore. Temple is 2km from the station.
By Road : The direct bus is available from Tirupati to Vellore , Chittoor to vellore and chennai to
Vellore. It takes 2hr 30min. To reach this temple from Tirupati and Chennai.
• Dedicated to Lord Shiva ,known by Annamalayar or
Arunachaleswarar and is represented by the lingam.
• The half-female, half-male form of Shiva ( Ardhnareswar).
• Constructed in Dravidian Style architecture .
• This is under the control of Archaeological Survey of India(
asi) from 2002.
legend : Vishnu and Brahma contested for superiority, Shiva appeared as a flame, and
challenged them to find his source. Brahma took the form of a swan, and flew to the sky to see the
top of the flame, while Vishnu became the boar Varaha, and sought its base. The scene is
called lingothbava, Neither Brahma nor Vishnu could find the source, and while Vishnu conceded his
defeat, Brahma lied and said he had found the pinnacle. In punishment, Shiva ordained that Brahma
would never have temples on earth in his worship.

• From 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and 12 yearly festivals on its
calendar.
• The Karthigai Deepam festival is celebrated during the day
of the full moon between November and December

How to reach:
BY Air : Chennai is the nearest airport and it lies around 185 km
By road : From Chennai the travel time is around 3.5 hours.
The travel by car or by public transport is quite comfortable.
• It is one of the 108 Divyadesam dedicated to
Vishnu worshipped as Ulagalantha Perumal and his
consort Lakshmi as Poongothai.
• Constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture
Legend: Vishnu descended as the Vamana avatar to restore the authority of Indra over the
heavens, as it had been taken by Asura King Mahabali, regarded himself as the all powerful in
the world. Vamana, as a Brahmin went to the king to request 3 paces of land. Mahabali
consented, against the warning of his guru Sukracharya. Vamana then revealed his identity and
stepped from heaven to earth with the 1st step, from earth to the netherworld with the 2nd .
King Mahabali, unable to fulfill his promise, offered his head for the 3rd.
Festivals:
• Masi Magam festival celebrated in February–March.
• Panguni Brahmmotsavam festival is of 15 days in March- April.
• Vasanth Utsavam in April–May

How to reach :
Kanchipuram is around 75 kms from Chennai off the Chennai Bangalore highway via Sri Perumbudur. It is well
connected by several bus services from Chennai. There is a railway station in Kanchipuram with a few train
services from Chennai in the mornings.
• The temple is located on the northern part of Dharmapuri.
Dedicated to Lord Shiva
• One of the highlights of this temple is the “ Hanging pillar”.
• There is a popular belief that this place was a part of the hindu
mythology Ramayana.
Festivals:
• Aadipooram bangle festival and Alankara and
Poopandhal in July-August.
• Navarathri in september-october.

How to reach:
By air : Thiruvannamalai air port is 10 km away.
By train : krishnagiri is the nearest railway station ( 45km ).
Bus, car, cab, and auto facilities are avalable from all sides.
• Temple is known as Kottai Periya Mari (means rain) .
• Devotees pray to this Goddess for rain which is the guardian
deity of salem .
• The guardian deity namely Goddess Periya Mariamman was
worshipped by the people of salem.
• There are 9 stone pillars inside the sannadhi Mandapam.
Festivals :
• Aadi festival ( Poochattu) this is a 15 days festival .
• Other festivals like vinayaka chadhurthi, Navaratri(9 nights)
Deepavali, Kruthikai, Thai pongal, shivratri .

Evening Time : 4 pm – 9:00 pm

By air : Nearest Airport is located at Trichy ( 190 kms ) & coimbatore (180 kms).
By Train : Nearest stop is salem Railway Junction .
From New Bus Stand, the Temple is only 3 km .
• famous Amman Temple in Bannari(T.M.) Dedicated to goddess
Mariamman or Maha Kali .
• Kundam festival is celebrated in the Tamil Month of Panguni
(March - April).
• this temple having a 24-pillared Mandapa with carvings of great
architectural beauty.

• Namakkal Anjaneyar temple is located in Namakkal.
• Dedicated to the Hindu god Hanuman.
• Constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture.
• legend of the temple is associated with Narasimha,
an avatar of Hindu god Vishnu appearing for Hanuman
and Lakshmi. The image of Anjaneyar is 18 ft (5.5 m) tall,
making it one of the tallest images of Hanuman in India. The
Agamam is followed by "Sri Vaikhanasam“
• 15-day Panguni Uthiram festival celebrated in (March -
April) .

The temple is open from 7 am – 1:00 pm and 4:30 – 11:30 pm

By Air : coimbatore is the nearest Airport.
By train : Namakkal is the nearest Railway Station .
By Road : The Temple is 2km from the Namakkal Bus Stop.
• Dedicated to Mariamman, the Hindu Goddess of rain.
• Mariamman is also referred to as Seethala Gowri or Mahamaayi.
• Temple is constructed in Dravidian style architecture.
• Ooty Mariamman Temple Festival is celebrated in the month of
April
Legend : Day 2 sisters travelling from north reached market. They had divine look and manner. When they asked for a
place to stay, they were told to stay under a nearby tree. They did not know that the sisters were Goddesses. A lightning or
flash of light appeared near the tree and the sisters disappeared. Then the people understood that the sisters were divine
forms and built a temple for Goddess Kaliamman and Mariamman together. It is the Mariamman temple seen today. It is
the only place where both goddess are seen together. Even today people gather at market on Tuesday and worship
Goddess Mariamman on their way returning from market.

• Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva in Gangaikonda
Cholapuram.
• Constucted in Dravidian style architecture.
• There is an image of a seated Nandi in the courtyard.
• The Archaeological Survey of India(ASI) administers the
temple as a protected heritage monument.
• UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 2004 along with
the Brihadeeswarar Temple at Thanjavur and Airavatesvara
temple at Darasuram. These are referred to collectively as
the Great Living Chola Temples.
Festivals:
• Shivarathri during February–March .
• Aipassi Pournami during October– November .
• Thiruvadirai during December–January .

• Hindu temple dedicated to the deity Shiva.
• Shiva is worshipped as Avinasiappar, and is represented by
the lingam.
• His consort Parvati is depicted as Karunambigai.
• Constructed in Dravidian style architecture.
legend, two boys of eight years of age took a dip in a tank when a crocodile swallowed one
of them. Sundarar on his way to Tiruvanchikulam heard the incident and sung praises of Shiva in
the temple. The boy was miraculously rescued from the clutches of a crocodile and this event is
commemorated during the Mudalai Vaai Pillai Utsavam on Panguni Uththiram. There is a shrine
to Sundarar on the banks of the temple tank. Since the boy came out of crocodile's mouth, the
place is called Pukkoliyur.

Avinashi is 13 km from Tirupur on the Coimbatore road. The temple is on the
main road.
• Dedicated to Lord Vishnu in the form of kalyana
venkataramana swamy .
• The temple is a swayambumurthi on a big rock in a
standing posture.
• Devotees offer sandals as contribution to the temple.
Festival:
• 22 days Purattasi utsav in september- october .
• 17 days masi Magam car Festival in february – March.
• Krishna jyanti in August – September.

Thanthondri Malai is close to Karur town on the Karur- Trichy road and is
easily reachable
• Hindu temple dedicated to Ranganatha, a reclining form of
the Hindu deity Vishnu, located in Srirangam, Tiruchirapalli,
• Constructed in the Dravidian Architecture .
• The temple is on an island between the Kollidam and Kaveri river.
• This Temple is in UNESCO's tentative list.

Rathothsavam is celebrated during January–February .
Vasanthothsavam is celebrated during May–June.

• Hindu temple dedicated to the Lord Shiva.
• constructed in Dravidian style architecture.
• The temple was built from 685-705CE by a Rajasimha ruler
of the Pallava Dynasty.
• The structure contains 58 small shrines which are dedicated
to various forms of Shiva.
• Maha Shivaratri is the biggest festival held in the temple.

By Air : The nearest airport to this city is the Meenambakam Airport
in Chennai.
By Bus : The Kanchipuram Bus Stand is just 5 km away from the

• Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva which is also called as
Brihadeeswarar temple.
• located in Thanjavur in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
• It was built by Raja Raja Chola I and completed in 1010 AD.
• The temple is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known
as the "Great Living Chola Temples", along with Brihadeeswarar
Temple , Gangaikonda Cholapuram and Airavatesvara temple.
• The vimanam (temple tower) is 216 ft (66 m) high and is the
tallest in the world.
Festivals : The annual festival is held for 9 days in the month of Visaka or May (The
deity is bathed with the water soaked with the fragrant Champaka flower.

• Is in Ramanathapuram district (Tamil Nadu). A part of Char
Dham & “ ” .
• Pamban Island- Rameswaram Island-Pamban Bridge.
• Rama built the bridge, across the sea to rescue his wife Sita.
• Temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva -holy pilgrimage
site for both Shaivites and Vaishnavites.
• There are 64 Tīrthas (holy water bodies) -24 of them are
important.-Bathing in these Tīrthas (22 are within the
Temple.
• Temple having longest corridor in the world of about 1220
mtrs.

  • 2. • One of the 29 states of India. • Its capital and largest city is Chennai ( Madras). • It lies in the southernmost part of the Indian subcontinent and is bordered by the union territory of Puducherry and the South Indian states of Kerala, Karnataka, & Andhra Pradesh. • It is bounded by the Eastern Ghats on the north, by the Nilgiri Mountains, the Meghamalai Hills, and Kerala on the west, by the Bay of Bengal in the east, by the Gulf of Mannar and the Palk Strait on the southeast, and by the Indian Ocean on the south. The state shares a maritime border with the nation of Sri Lanka.
  • 3. • It Is the 11th largest Indian state by area and the 6th largest by population. • The economy of Tamil Nadu is the 2nd largest state economy in India with ₹17.25 lakh crore(US$250 billion) in GDP after Maharashtra . • Its official language is Tamil . • There are 7 Airports in Tamil Nadu. • The region was ruled by several empires, including the 3 great empires – Chola, Chera, and Pandyan empires, which shape the region's cuisine, culture, and architecture.
  • 4. • There are 32 districts in Tamil Nadu. • Tamil Nadu is known as the temple state of India. • There are about 33,000 ancient temples. • Most of these are dedicated to lord Shiva and Bhairava. • Many temples are dedicated to lord Vishnu, lord Murugan and lord Hanuman. • Many temples are at least 800-5000 years old. • There are 38615 temples(as per Tamil Nadu Hindu Endowments board )

  • 6. • Dedicated to Hindu god Vishnu. • Located in Thiruvallur, Chennai . • Constructed in Dravidian style of architecture. • It is counted as one among the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu. Vishnu is worshipped as Veeraraghava Perumal and his consort Lakshmi as Kamalavalli Thayar. • The chariot festival and float festival, celebrated during month of Chittirai (Mar–Apr) Legend: Vishnu appeared in the place to marry Lakshmi, who was born as the daughter of Dilipa, the king of Dharmasenapura. He appeared in the place and married her. The place is also called Thiruevvul and Veshranniem.
  • 7. Visiting Time : morning hours : 5:30 am – 12 Noon Evening hours : 4 pm – 9 pm Visit Duration : 1hr – 2hr How to reach : Mylapore is a Central area in the city of Chennai. By rail : from Chennai Cenral Train station which is 5km away from temple. Buses, cabs, auto rickshaws can also be taken in plenty to reach.
  • 8. • Dedicated to hindu god SHIVA located in Mylapore, Chennai. • The form of Shiva's consort Parvati worshipped at this temple is called Karpagambal("Goddess of the Wish-Yielding Tree“) • Cunstrusted in Dravidian style architecture. (The original temple structure is said to have been destroyed by the Portuguese in the 16th century AD. St. Thomas Cathedral Basilica, Chennai was then built in the place where the original temple structure stood.) • The 10-day festival during March / April is a treat to watch and Arubathu Moovar festival is attended by lakhs of devotees every year.
  • 9. Brahma and Shiva at top of Mt. Kailash Brahma failed to show thedue respect to Shiva. Due to this, Shiva plucked of one of Brahma's heads (kapalams) Brahma came down to the site of Mylapore and installed a Lingam to please Shiva. This place is known as "Kailaye Mayilai and Mayilaye Kayilai "which means this place is equal to kailash. Brahma had worshipped here to get rid of his ego and get back his power . The 4 Vedas have worshipped here. Sukracharya worshipped the Lord here and got back his lost eye. Rama has worshipped here and won the war against Ravana and brought back Sita from Lanka.

Visiting Timing: Morning time : 6:00am – 1:00 pm Evening time : 4:00pm – 8:00 pm Visiting hours : 2-3hrs Best seasosn: November - February How to reach: BY AIR : Nearest airport is chennai international airport (15km). BY TRAIN : nearest railway station in chennai railway station (6.4km). You can also hire a cab or a car and also can use the public transport.
  • 11. • Temple located in Kancheepuram is one of the panch bhootha sthala (five elements- Earth,Sky,Air,Water). • Constructed in Dravidian style architecture. • The temple has 6 daily rituals at various times from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and 12 yearly festivals on its calendar. Panguni Uthiram festival celebrated for 13 days during March - April is the most prominent festival. legend : goddess kamakshi performed a strict penance for Lord Shiva, by stranding on a single leg under a mango tree beside vegavathi river. Kamaksha devi had passed through many tests created by Shiva . To test the quality of the penance, Lord Shiva sent fire on her, she then sought help, brother Vishnu showered moon ray to cool the fire. Goddess kamakshi made Shiva linga and continued with her penance for many years. Impressed by the penance, Lord Shiva married Goddess kamakshi.
  • 12. • This temple has 5 spacious corridor and a beautiful 1000 pillared hall. • This temple has 1008 Shiva Lingas. • Ancient mango tree which is if 3500 year is located in the temple . • This tree has 4 branches, which represens 4 vedas(Rig veda, Yajur Veda, Sama Veda, Atharva Veda). Fruits from the 4 branches will be of diffrent tastes. • Currently this tree is kept under closed glass walls.

Ekambarewarar Temple Timings Morning hours : 6:00 am – 12:30 pm Evening hours : 4:00 pm – 8:30 pm Ekambareswarar Temple Pooja Timing Morning Hours : 6:00 am , 9:00 am, 12:30 pm Evening Hours : 5:30 pm , 7:00 pm , 8:30 pm How to reach : Temple is 2 km from kanchipuram Bus Station. Temple is 108 km from triupati. Direct bus to kanchi is available from Tirupati at regular intervals. From chennai, temple is 80 km away. Temple is at a walk able distance (600mt) from from Kanchipuram Railway station.
  • 14. • Dedicated to Lord Shiva which is located in the Vellore Fort, Tamil Nadu. • This temple was built in the Vijaynagar period. • Counstructed in Vijayanagara architecture. • This temple is under the control of the Archaeological Survey of India( ASI). Behind the Nandi statue, there is an earthen lamp, which is said to revolve when some people place their hands on it. The revolving is said to indicate that their wishes have been granted. Some devotees of the temple worship the golden and silver lizard sculptures and the snake sculptures in order to get relief from 'sarpa dosham’

Festivals: • 10 day Chitra Poornima (Apr- May ) Surasamharam in Aipasi( Oct- Nov). • 10 day Aadipooram (July- Aug), Vinayaka Chaturthi in Avani (Aug- Sep). • Novarathi during ( Sep- Oct ) and all Saturday during this period, are the festivals devotionally celebrated in the temple. • All the 3 Lords with their consorts- lord Vishnu with mata Mahalakshmi, Lord Brahmma with mata Saraswati and Lord Shiva with mata parvati grace the devotees in the temple.
  • 16. Temple timing: Morning time : 6:30am- 1:00 pm Evening time : 5:00pm – 8:30 pm How to reach: By Air : The nearest airport is at Tirupati which is 128km away. Chennai international airport is 140 km away. By Train : The direct train is available Chennai to Vellore. Temple is 2km from the station. By Road : The direct bus is available from Tirupati to Vellore , Chittoor to vellore and chennai to Vellore. It takes 2hr 30min. To reach this temple from Tirupati and Chennai.
  • 17. • Dedicated to Lord Shiva ,known by Annamalayar or Arunachaleswarar and is represented by the lingam. • The half-female, half-male form of Shiva ( Ardhnareswar). • Constructed in Dravidian Style architecture . • This is under the control of Archaeological Survey of India( asi) from 2002. legend : Vishnu and Brahma contested for superiority, Shiva appeared as a flame, and challenged them to find his source. Brahma took the form of a swan, and flew to the sky to see the top of the flame, while Vishnu became the boar Varaha, and sought its base. The scene is called lingothbava, Neither Brahma nor Vishnu could find the source, and while Vishnu conceded his defeat, Brahma lied and said he had found the pinnacle. In punishment, Shiva ordained that Brahma would never have temples on earth in his worship.
  • 18. • The temple has 6 daily rituals at various times. • From 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and 12 yearly festivals on its calendar. • The Karthigai Deepam festival is celebrated during the day of the full moon between November and December

Temple opening Timing: Morning time : 5:30 am -12 pm Evening Time : 3:00 pm – 10:00 pm Pooja Time : Morning Time : 5:30 am, 6:00 am, 8:30 am Noon Time : 11:00 am Night Time : 7:30 pm, 9:00 pm How to reach: BY Air : Chennai is the nearest airport and it lies around 185 km By road : From Chennai the travel time is around 3.5 hours. The travel by car or by public transport is quite comfortable.
  • 20. • It is one of the 108 Divyadesam dedicated to Vishnu worshipped as Ulagalantha Perumal and his consort Lakshmi as Poongothai. • Constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture Legend: Vishnu descended as the Vamana avatar to restore the authority of Indra over the heavens, as it had been taken by Asura King Mahabali, regarded himself as the all powerful in the world. Vamana, as a Brahmin went to the king to request 3 paces of land. Mahabali consented, against the warning of his guru Sukracharya. Vamana then revealed his identity and stepped from heaven to earth with the 1st step, from earth to the netherworld with the 2nd . King Mahabali, unable to fulfill his promise, offered his head for the 3rd.

Festivals: • Masi Magam festival celebrated in February–March. • Panguni Brahmmotsavam festival is of 15 days in March- April. • Vasanth Utsavam in April–May Temple opening time: Morning Time : 6:00 AM-12 pm Evening Time : 4:00 pm-8:00 pm How to reach : Kanchipuram is around 75 kms from Chennai off the Chennai Bangalore highway via Sri Perumbudur. It is well connected by several bus services from Chennai. There is a railway station in Kanchipuram with a few train services from Chennai in the mornings.
  • 22. • The temple is located on the northern part of Dharmapuri. Dedicated to Lord Shiva • One of the highlights of this temple is the “ Hanging pillar”. • There is a popular belief that this place was a part of the hindu mythology Ramayana.
