Period: March2011 – October2011
Position: Unit Officer and Research Scientist, Agricultural Research Station, Sansoli
Employer: Anand Agricultural University, Anand
Duringthis period I have developed the farm of Sansoli and Nenpur. Enrichment of soilsof Sansoli Farmfor growing Shun hemp crop as
a green manuring. These farm land initially Gauchar, undulating, unlevel/sloppy and barren for a long time so there was need to level for
farming. With a view this object, these land was leveled through Bull Dozer and tractor and filling the soils in low land area by transporting
good soils from near tank by tractor and make them level. Majority of land was scrapped so obviously there was a poor in soil fertility. Soil
analysis of different plots has been carried out at University Soil Testi ng Laboratory, Anand and found that majority of the plots have poor
major and micronutrients.I have advised to the field staff to apply castor cakes, fertilizers including micro-nutrients in different plots as per
soil test value. I was the PI of Integrated Farming System (RKVY) project at Sansoli , so I started the implementation of the Project. I have
grown different crops at Sansoli and Nanpur farms to test the suitability of different crops so that in future planning of cr op production
would be decided. Between 1985 and 2006, I have published, primarily as lead author, 20 research papers in research journal articles, 2
books and 3 bulletins (lead author in one). Over the same period I have made 6 recommendations of “Forage Production Technologies
Recommended to Farming Communities” as lead author.
Period: December 2006 – March2011
Position: Research Scientist, I/C Associate Research Scientist, Horticulture at N. C. Farm, AAU,
Chharodi, Ahmedabad.
Employer: Anand Agricultural University, Anand
I handled large farm having 2250 acres land where 4 schemes were operated viz., N. C. Farm, of Kankrej cows, Diploma Agriculture
School,Jatropha Project and Mega Seed Projecton seed multiplication program. I also had given one additional charge of Tobacco Research
Station, Sanand. My role encompassed handling both farms Chharodi and Sanand. At Chharodi, I have to look farm and dairy mana gement
and look to the activities of Diploma Agricultural Students. I have been given special task given by the Vice Chancellor to look the
development of Chharodi farm. I have taken up seed multiplication program of Rice, Wheat, Lucerne and Fenugreek. I have increased double
income of N.C.Farm, Chharodi of Rs.95.02 lakh in my tenure period (2006-07 and 2007-08) as compared to only Rs.47.64 lakh in past two
years (2004-05 and 2005-06). I have increased the soil fertility of Chharodi farm by soil application of gypsum @ 2.00 MT and 25 Kg ZnSO4
per hectare. It was directly reflected in rice production. I have taken up rice seed production in 2007 and the rice seed production was 2,
16,807 kg from 60.00 hectare land whereas it was only 150331 kg from the same land during 2006. The productivity was increased to the
tune of 44.2 % higher in 2007 as compared to the year 2006. It indicated that farm management significantly influenced the cro p
productivity. Similarly, the milk production enhanced 38 % during 2007 (75714 kg) as compared to 2006 (54272 kg). Chharodi fa rm have
natural grass area of about1600 acres. The total number of natural grassbales in theyear 2007 was 15,308 numbers which wer e 24 & higher
than the year 2006 (12,328, each having weight 100-100 kg dry grass). After closing of Chharodi Farm on 03-10-2008.
I continued as a Unit Officer at N. C. Farm, Anand and development of 5 newly ARS Farms viz., Sansoli, Nenpur, Mehmadavadana
Muvada, Meenavada and Khambholaj of AAU, Anand. The allotted land was Gauchar, undulating, sloppy and unfertile. This land converted
into cultivated by farm management usingplowing, harrowing, cultivating, levelingland usingBull Dozar, JCB machine and Tra ctors. Improve
soil fertility by green manure crops and addition of organic manures and fertilizers. I have prepared a project of “Development of Integrated
Farming System at Chharodi” under Stream-I for new projects under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (R.K.V.Y.) for the year 2008-09. The total
outlay of the project was Rs. 471.20 lakh (47.12 million). This project was shifted from Chharodi to Sansoli as Chharodi farm was closed by
the Government for Tata Nano Project. I have purchased the farm equipments, office furniture and laboratory scientific instru ments as per
the sanction in the project. The seed production program of sorghum, rice, wheat, corn and green gram etc has been taken up and
distributed seeds to the farmers and co-operative societies.
Period: July1998 – December 2006
Position: Associate Research Scientist, Main Forage Research Station, Anand
Employer: Anand Agricultural University, Aannd
Field trials of nutrient managements were conducted on forage crops for forage production and quality evaluation. The treatment
wise of forage plant green samples of 500 grams of Plant Breeding, Agronomy and Soil Science and Plant Protection disciplines trials were
brought in the Forage Quality Evaluation laboratory and these samples were cut into small pieces with the manually chaff cutter and dried
under shadow. Afterwards these partial dried plant samples were put into oven at 75 C temperature for about 24 hours till constant weight
obtained. These samples were removed from the oven and weigh treatment wise and calculate dry matter content. These samples were
ground in Grinding Mill and estimated N content using Kjeldahls’ method and these N values multiplied by 6.25 gives CP %.The NDF content
was estimated using standard method. The HCN content of forage sorghum was estimated from green samples. The NO -N content, Oxalate
content and IVDMD content estimated from promising entries if forage crops which are in pipe lines or for specific trials where treatments
effectiveness required to be assessed.
I conducted 4 field trials on sorghum, maize and Lucerne on nutrient management and 2 trials were on multi -
micronutrients on corn and sorghum. Two trials each on effect of P and S on forage sorghum yield and quality in 2001-03 and
effect of different sources & levels of S, Zn and B levels on seed production of Lucerne. These trials were repeated for 3 years & pooled
statistical analysiscarried out. The chemical analysisof samples was also carried out. The economics analysiswas also carried out for finding
out the remunerative treatments. These trials recommendations were presented in sub-committees meeting of Agronomy and Soil Science
and in Joint AGRESCO meeting and discussed and final approval. Afterwards, these recommendation finding were given to the Departments
of Agricultureand Extension to reach to the farmers’ door step. Soil samples analysisfor land acquisition in Vadodara and Kheda districts for
rehabilitation of Narmada
ousters for appraisal of the identified land for their suitability to farming during 2000 to 2002.
Position: Assistant Research Scientist, Main Forage Research Station, Anand
Employer: Anand Agricultural University, Anand
Period: March1982 –July1998
I conducted 2 separate field trials on nutrient management on forage sorghum in rainy and summer season of 1986, 1987 and 198 8.
Another one field trial was conducted on oats to study the response of forage oats to sowing dates and cutting management on grain
production during winter season of 1986-88. Pooled statistical analysis of 3 years results were carried out and worked out the economics
analysis to find out the remunerative treatments over control. These recommendations were approve as the procedure indicated earlier in
the period July1998–December 2006.Carried outchemical analysis of foragecrops trials of different disciplines for evaluating /effectiveness
of the treatments for quality and anti-quality and interpret the results and finally made recommendation to the farmers. I worked long
period of 25 years in forage crops and contributed significant work in forage crop production and quality. I had been analysi s of 1, 00,000
number of forage plant samples for dry matter and crude protein content. I had attended Group Meet/Work shop of forage crops at
different places of India in 25 years period. My three research papers has been accepted in the 18th World Congress of Soil Science, Frontiers
of Soil Science, Technology and the information of Age, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA), 20006 and presented 3 research papers,

Farm, of Kankrej cows, Diploma Agriculture School,Jatropha Project and Mega Seed Projecton seed multiplication program. I also had given one additional charge of Tobacco Research Station, Sanand. My role encompassed handling both farms Chharodi and Sanand. At Chharodi, I have to look farm and dairy mana gement and look to the activities of Diploma Agricultural Students. I have increased the soil fertility of Chharodi farm by soil application of gypsum @ 2.00 MT and 25 Kg ZnSO4 per hectare. It was directly reflected in rice production. I have taken up rice seed production in 2007 and the rice seed production was 2, 16,807 kg from 60.00 hectare land whereas it was only 150331 kg from the same land during 2006. The productivity was increased to the tune of 44.2 % higher in 2007 as compared to the year 2006. It indicated that farm management significantly influenced the cro p productivity. Similarly, the milk production enhanced 38 % during 2007 (75714 kg) as compared to 2006 (54272 kg). Chharodi fa rm have natural grass area of about1600 acres. The total number of natural grassbales in theyear 2007 was 15,308 numbers which wer e 24 & higher than the year 2006 (12,328, each having weight 100-100 kg dry grass). After closing of Chharodi Farm on 03-10-2008. I continued as a Unit Officer at N. C. Farm, Anand and development of 5 newly ARS Farms viz., Sansoli, Nenpur, Mehmadavadana Muvada, Meenavada and Khambholaj of AAU, Anand. The allotted land was Gauchar, undulating, sloppy and unfertile. This land converted into cultivated by farm management usingplowing, harrowing, cultivating, levelingland usingBull Dozar, JCB machine and Tra ctors. Improve soil fertility by green manure crops and addition of organic manures and fertilizers. I have prepared a project of “Development of Integrated Farming System at Chharodi” under Stream-I for new projects under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (R.K.V.Y.) for the year 2008-09. The total outlay of the project was Rs. 471.20 lakh (47.12 million). This project was shifted from Chharodi to Sansoli as Chharodi farm was closed by the Government for Tata Nano Project. I have purchased the farm equipments, office furniture and laboratory scientific instru ments as per the sanction in the project. The seed production program of sorghum, rice, wheat, corn and green gram etc has been taken up and distributed seeds to the farmers and co-operative societies. Period: July1998 – December 2006 Position: Associate Research Scientist, Main Forage Research Station, Anand Employer: Anand Agricultural University, Aannd Field trials of nutrient managements were conducted on forage crops for forage production and quality evaluation. The treatment wise of forage plant green samples of 500 grams of Plant Breeding, Agronomy and Soil Science and Plant Protection disciplines trials were brought in the Forage Quality Evaluation laboratory and these samples were cut into small pieces with the manually chaff cutter and dried under shadow. Afterwards these partial dried plant samples were put into oven at 75 C temperature for about 24 hours till constant weight obtained. These samples were removed from the oven and weigh treatment wise and calculate dry matter content. These samples were ground in Grinding Mill and estimated N content using Kjeldahls’ method and these N values multiplied by 6.25 gives CP %.The NDF content was estimated using standard method. The HCN content of forage sorghum was estimated from green samples. The NO -N content, Oxalate content and IVDMD content estimated from promising entries if forage crops which are in pipe lines or for specific trials where treatments effectiveness required to be assessed. I conducted 4 field trials on sorghum, maize and Lucerne on nutrient management and 2 trials were on multi - micronutrients on corn and sorghum. Two trials each on effect of P and S on forage sorghum yield and quality in 2001-03 and effect of different sources & levels of S, Zn and B levels on seed production of Lucerne. These trials were repeated for 3 years & pooled statistical analysiscarried out. The chemical analysisof samples was also carried out. The economics analysiswas also carried out for finding out the remunerative treatments. These trials recommendations were presented in sub-committees meeting of Agronomy and Soil Science and in Joint AGRESCO meeting and discussed and final approval. Afterwards, these recommendation finding were given to the Departments of Agricultureand Extension to reach to the farmers’ door step. Soil samples analysisfor land acquisition in Vadodara and Kheda districts for rehabilitation of Narmada ousters for appraisal of the identified land for their suitability to farming during 2000 to 2002. Position: Assistant Research Scientist, Main Forage Research Station, Anand Employer: Anand Agricultural University, Anand Period: March1982 –July1998 I conducted 2 separate field trials on nutrient management on forage sorghum in rainy and summer season of 1986, 1987 and 198 8. Another one field trial was conducted on oats to study the response of forage oats to sowing dates and cutting management on grain production during winter season of 1986-88. Pooled statistical analysis of 3 years results were carried out and worked out the economics analysis to find out the remunerative treatments over control. These recommendations were approve as the procedure indicated earlier in the period July1998–December 2006.Carried outchemical analysis of foragecrops trials of different disciplines for evaluating /effectiveness of the treatments for quality and anti-quality and interpret the results and finally made recommendation to the farmers. I worked long period of 25 years in forage crops and contributed significant work in forage crop production and quality. I had been analysi s of 1, 00,000
  • 4. number of forage plant samples for dry matter and crude protein content. I had attended Group Meet/Work shop of forage crops at different places of India in 25 years period. My three research papers has been accepted in the 18th World Congress of Soil Science, Frontiers of Soil Science, Technology and the information of Age, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA), 20006 and presented 3 research papers, Period: June 1977 – March1982 Position: Senior Research Assistant, Hill Millet Research Station, Dahod, Dist.Panchmahals Employer: Anand Agricultural University, Anand New Research Scheme sanctioned on “Strengthening Research In Hill Millet crops at Dahod” during 1977 and I was transferred wi th promotion in this scheme as Senior Research Assistant. We have purchased farm implements, laboratory equipments, office furniture and hand tools etc for the use of conductingfield trials.Planned and execute field trials on Plant Breeding and Agronomy discipline of Hill Millet Crops. Field layout of experiment, timely sowing of trials with recommended package of practices is necessary for success. I was recording timely experimental observations. The experiment should be harvested timely and recorded weigh of produce and analysis the da ta and interpretation of results. The soil science subject taught to the Diploma Agriculture School students at Dahod. I conducted lab to lab fiel d trials on riceand maizecrops at farmers’filed in different villages in tribal area of Dahod.Timely supplied inputof tria ls viz; seeds, fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides etc was given to the farmers. We were periodically monitored the field trials at farmers’ field and advise them for their problem. We got very good response of the farmers and they realize that newer technol ogies definitely increases crop productivity. Period: February1974 – June 1977 Position: Agricultural Supervisor, Main Rice Research Station, Nawagam Employer: Anand Agricultural University,Anand As Agricultural Supervisor, I have carried out the technical correspondence of rice crop with farmers, University office, government office, NGOs, seed companies. Looking to my working ability, the Research Scientisthas assigned me the work of Ricebiochemist and carries out the quality analysis of rice crop. I have made crossing program of rice crop to develop new variety. I have contributed to evolve rice GR- 11 variety by conductingriceseed trialsatTaluka Seed Multiplication Farms,TCD Farm and University farms. I was also hand ling the Library work of the Main RiceResearch Station, Nawagam. I was correspondenceto the bookseller for non-receipt of the periodic research journals.
