  8. 8. 8<br />1.Agriculture Credit and Finance <br />There has been sharp increase in credit to agriculture through institutional sources i.e., from Rs. 620.45 billion in the year 2001-02 to Rs. 2,871.49 billion (2008-09) and that is because of maximum increase in credit through commercial banks.<br />Target of advance to agriculture through institutional sources in the year 2009-10 is Rs. 3,250 billion.<br /><ul><li>Around 4.54 crores new farmers were financed in 2008-09</li></ul>Farm loan upto Rs. 50,000 has been made collateral/security free<br />1<br />
