INTRODUCTION Introduction <ul><li>ASI stands for Actuator Sensor Interface </li></ul><ul><li>AS-Interface is an open, vendor-independent bus system. </li></ul><ul><li>Actuators and sensors are connected to the controller via an unshielded 2-wire line – which simultaneously transfers data and power. </li></ul><ul><li>The basis of each system include:- </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>The master </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Power supply unit </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Various standard and safe slaves </li></ul></ul></ul>

Properties of the AS-Interface cable ● The AS-Interface cable connects all the network nodes. ● The cable has two wires (ASI + and ASI -) and is unshielded. ● The trapezoidal profile with the profiled lug ensures a high degree of protection against polarity reversal (mechanical code). ● The shaped cable transfers data and power. The CP 343-2/ P can be used in AS-i Power24V networks. The AS-i master controls data exchange with the connected nodes by means of cyclic polling.   21. 21. DP/AS-i LINK Advanced AMC The DP/AS-i LINKs Advanced are a PROFIBUS DPV1-slave and AS-i master This allows data to be transparently accessed on AS-Interface from PROFIBUS DP. It is either available as single or double master Ideally suited for distributed architectures and to connect an AS-Interface network to higher-level bus systems. Components

Retrofit <ul><li>The DP/AS-i Link 20E connects PROFIBUS DP to AS-Interface. </li></ul><ul><li>The DP/AS-i Link 20E is both a PROFIBUS DP slave und AS-Interface master. </li></ul><ul><li>An additional power supply is not required as the power is taken from the AS-Interface cable. </li></ul><ul><li>Commissioning times are also reduced as engineering is as simple as pressing a button. </li></ul><ul><li>The DP/AS-i Link 20E permits configuring of the AS-Interface network in STEP7 (from V5.2) requiring no additional software. </li></ul>DP/AS-Interface Link 20E Components
