Ethical Views On Gender Equity

Egoist <ul><li>Male egoist view different from Female </li></ul><ul><ul><li>A Female egoist would favor gender equity because it would help her get ahead </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>A male egoist would be against gender equity. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>It would go against his self preservation and help others get ahead </li></ul></ul></ul>

Utilitarian <ul><li>A utilitarian would change his or her view depending on who made up the majority. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>If there was a male majority then they would not be in favor of gender equity. There would be no gender equity or Title IX </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>If there was a female majority then they would be in favor of gender equity. </li></ul></ul>
  3. 4. Golden Rule <ul><li>Someone who followed the golden rule would support gender equity and provide equal rights for men and women. </li></ul>
  4. 5. Kantian <ul><li>Kantian ethicist would also be in favor of gender equity. Doing right would mean providing equal rights for all, simply because it is right. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>If there was no Title IX and someone provided gender equity they could be viewed as a Kantian ethicist. </li></ul></ul>
