  2. 2. How the Via (Roads) were Created -Rome constructed their roads by first laying pavimentum (sand) on the fosa which was a ditch. On top of the pavimentum is the statument (gravel) then the radus (cement) and on the top is the summum dorsum the large stone that are like coble stone that are on top
  3. 3. How Roads were Created con. <ul><li>After the roads were completed they were ready to be rode on </li></ul><ul><li>The problem was that when they were rode on they were not as smooth as our asphalt today </li></ul><ul><li>Comfort was something that needed to be fixed </li></ul>
  4. 4. Connection <ul><li>The roads of Rome are the basis of our roads were built today </li></ul><ul><li>The first roads in America were built the same or very similar to the roads of Rome </li></ul><ul><li>The roads then evolved to the ones today </li></ul>
