“ PRE-MARITAL SEX” CAN KILL YOU!

IT ONLY TAKES ONCE TO:

Get Pregnant

Get a Venereal disease

Die from AIDS

Your Teen Years

A time to study and learn.

Think about what I will do in the future.

To develop friendship.

To grow into the kind of person you want to be in the future.

IDENTITY FORMATION

Exciting time for you to discover the opposite sex.

Without having to deal with the complications of being involved in sexual activity.

Dating can be a lot of fun without sex!

Getting into the sexual scene can short-circuit the growth you need to become a mature adult!

What about the Pill?

Pills are very dangerous since it contains a powerful hormone that affects the master gland in your body especially if you are under 17 years of age. The master gland is trying to coordinate with your growth process.. The Pill can prevent your bones from hardening properly; it can make you sterile , preventing pregnancies later in life when you may want to have a baby.

The birth control pill increases the risk of breast cancer by over 40% if it is taken before a woman delivers her first baby. This risk increases by 70% if the pill is used for 4 or more years before the woman’s first child is born.

Other side effects are:

The development of high blood pressure , and phlebitis (inflammation of your veins, which can cause blood clots).

Stroke, heart attack, depression, weight gain, migraine, dark spots on the skin and difficulty with breast-feeding.

Diabetics who take oral contraceptives may note increased in their sugar levels.

Some women who stop taking the pill do not have a return of their fertility (menstrual cycles) for a year or longer.

And worse!

The pill increases the risk of breast, liver, and cervical cancer.

Three studies also have noted that AIDS virus is transmitted more easily to women who are taking the Pill and whose partner has the HIV virus.

HIV-1 virus. Breast cancer
It Isn’t Easy!

1. When people say “it’s not realistic to tell teenagers not to have sex,” what they’re really saying is that you do not have the strength, the courage, or the common sense to practice self-control ; that you are not capable of saying “NO” to sex!

2. Nobody is trying to tell you that restraining from sex is easy. Nothing worthwhile in life comes easy. But it’s a lot better than putting yourself through the grief of an unwanted pregnancy and having to make the decisions that go with it , or putting yourself at risk of contracting an embarrassing or life-threatening disease.

3. Don’t be afraid you’ll lose him/her if you say “no” to sex . If your friend wants you only for your physical self , they’re not worth keeping as friends anyway! Don’t fall for the misleading slogan, “EVERYONE IS DOING IT.”. There is no such thing for you. Don’t allow yourself to be pressured into sexual activity.
Why Take Chances?

In 1987, the Atlanta Center for Disease Control reported over 10 million new cases of Sexually Transmitted Disease with another 10 million suspected. How many of these couples do you suppose felt they were practicing “Safe Sex”?

Remember, some Sexually Transmitted Diseases are incurable. Don’t take a risk that you don’t have to take. Find someone who respects you for your total-being -someone you enjoy being with without feeling pressured into sex; someone with whom you can keep your self-esteem.

Don’t take unnecessary chances with your health. Play it really safe- Say “No” to drugs! Say “No” to alcohol! Say “No” to sex!

It’s your health; it’s your body. PROTECT IT WITH YOUR LIFE!

Ten Good Reasons For Saying “No” To Sex.

First of all, you won’t ever have to worry about getting pregnant. You’ll never experience the fear and anxiety of having to tell your parents, “I’m pregnant,” or I got my girlfriend pregnant.” (pregnancy should be a happy announcement after marriage.)

You’ll never have to worry about getting AIDS or any other STD (Sexually transmitted Disease).

You’ll be free to grow emotionally, psychologically, intellectually, and spiritually.

You’ll feel good about yourself, knowing that you didn’t give in to peer pressure.

By not falling into the “sex trap” you’re building your psychological strength and self-esteem.

You’ll be setting an example for others your age – showing them that sexual activity can be avoided.

Well, if you are still not convinced yet, why don’t we ask the scientist to show us what are the Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) and its effects.

You’ll be protecting your own reputation- no girls wants to be known as “loose”; no boy wants the reputation of being a “Stud or playboy.”

You’ll know for certain that he/she cares about you for who you are and not just for your physical person.

You’ll be free to channel your energies into healthy activities such as studies, sports, etc.

10. You’ll learn not to confuse love with sex. Sex can be spontaneous and brief (a one-night stand). Love takes time to grow and lasts forever.

Here are some of the STDs!

According to the CDC, in 2000, an estimated 850,000-950,000 people in the United States were living with HIV and approximately one fourth of these people did not know they were infected.

The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV / AIDS (UNAIDS) estimates that there are 42 million people in the world living with HIV and 3.2 million of those are children under the age of 15. Over half of all adults living with HIV / AIDS are women. In 2002, approximately 5 million people were newly infected with HIV.

1. HIV Virus

Gonorrhea - is an infectious bacterial infection of the reproductive organs. That is sexually transmitted (venereal disease) . Gonorrhea is caused by a microorganism called Neisseria gonorrhoeae , commonly referred to as gonococci. It is a Gram-negative bacterium.

Gonorrhea is the second most reported Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) in the United States being spread through sexual intercourse. It is reported annually in about 600,000-800,000 people. It is believed that another 1 million cases go unreported each year. Approximately 75 percent of all cases of gonorrhea reported by health professionals to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are in people 15 to 30 years old. Teenage girls ages 15 to 19 and men ages 20 to 24 have the highest rates of infection.
This year, 2008, a fresh bout of Syphilis was found in Europe (especially in London, Amsterdam, Paris and Berlin).

Syphilis - is a contagious, sexually transmitted disease caused by the spirochete Treponema pallidum .

There are 3 types of Syphilis :

Primary Cutaneous Syphilis - 18-21 days after infection.

Secondary Cutaneous Syphilis – comes 6 to 8 weeks after infection.

Tertiary – comes after 8 weeks and the effects are chronic inflammation, neuropathies , aortic aneurysm , heart failure, blindness, dementia , memory loss, insanity, and death.

Primary Syphilis Syphilis Bacteria Secondary Syphilis Secondary Syphilis

Warts- are skin growths caused by a viral infection in the top layer of the skin. Viruses that cause warts are called human papillomavirus (HPV). They may occur anywhere on the body but are frequently seen on the hands, feet and face that are areas of frequent contact. The typical wart is a rough, round or oval lump on the skin that may be lighter or darker than the normal skin colour and, rarely, black. Women and children are more likely to have warts.

There are several kinds of warts. Common warts

Foot or Plantar warts

Flat warts

Genital warts

Cervical warts

Laryngeal warts

Chlamydia- is caused by sexually transmitted bacterial diseases of humans, and are estimated to be about 40 times more common than syphilitic infections throughout the world. Starts with a mild burning sensation on passing urine and can often progress to painful inflammation of the urethra or fallopian tubes that can lead to sterility.

Acquired by three to four million people per year in Europe and the USA alone. Roughly one female patient in five becomes infertile as a result of adhesions in the fallopian tubes.

Chlamydia Bacteria Infected Arm

What are pubic lice?

Are also called "crabs." Pubic lice are parasitic insects found in the genital area of humans. Infection is common and found worldwide.

Pubic lice are usually spread through sexual contact . Rarely, infestation can be spread through contact with an infested person's bed linens, towels, or clothes.

Infection in a young child or teenager may indicate sexual activity or sexual abuse.

Where are pubic lice found? Pubic lice are generally found in the genital area on pubic hair; but may occasionally be found on other coarse body hair, such as hair on the legs, armpit, mustache, beard, eyebrows, and eyelashes . Infestations of young children are usually on the eyebrows or eyelashes.

Are these the same lice found on the hair?

Lice found on the head are not pubic lice; they are head lice .

Pubic Lice

Herpes - is a virus specifically the "herpes virus hominus.” Simplex is a sub-category of that family. Simplex falls into four main categories, types 1, 2, 6, and 8. Generally, type I infects the mouth in humans and type II affects the genital area, but there is a substantial overlap. Type 6 causes an infection during infancy and Type 8 has been associated with Kaposi's Sarcoma which is seen in HIV.

Herpes simplex virus (HSV) has a vast presence in humans. It has been estimated that 90% of humans experience oral herpes infections by the age of ten years old.

Herpes is a DNA-type virus, inserting its DNA directly into the nucleus of the nerve cell. Once the viral information is inserted into the cells' nuclei, this blending of viral genetic information with human genetic information is permanent. The nerve cell then becomes a factory for making more of the herpes virus.

Genital Herpes affects about 20-25% of Americans, numbers exceeding 50 million Americans. It remains one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the world in absolute numbers of people.

Are Condoms Safe?

Absolutely not!

Using condoms to prevent AIDS is like

playing Russian Roulette - your life is at stake!

The condom has a failure rate that is estimated to be between 10 to 30% according to the US- Center for Disease Control.

Worse!

In 1987 the US Food and Drug Administration tested 20% of condoms lots and found out to have higher than allowed numbers of defective condoms.

Why are the numbers increasing in spite of all the protections?
Numbers are increasing because protections like condom is unsafe.

Breakage or slippage during use.

Defective condoms that have been damaged or poorly manufactured in the factory.

Cracked condoms caused by storage in a hot or cold place.

The condom does not adequately stop the transmission of the AIDS virus and other STDs, because condom-voids are bigger than the bacteria.

When one speaks of condoms stopping the HIV virus and sexually transmitted diseases, few people realize the size of what they are talking about.

The diagram shown here is taken from John Hopkins University, Population Reports, Vol. XVIII, No. 3, Series H, No. 8, September 1990.

The human sperm can only be seen under the powerful microscope. Millions of them are released in one sexual act.

These sperm can manage to escape through flaws or microscope lesion in condoms with sufficient regularity to cause pregnancy and render the condom quite an ineffective method of preventing pregnancy.

Comparative Sizes of Human Sperm and Common STD Viruses Herpes simplex Neisseria Gonorrhoeae Sperm Human Immuno- deficiency Virus Treponema Palladium (Syphilis)
The Truth About Condoms and Sexually Transmitted Diseases

If the sperm can escape, how much easier for the other STDs and HIV Virus to escape as shown in the comparative scale the previous page.

The AIDS virus is 450 times smaller than a sperm and can go through semi-permeable substances such as condoms. CM Roland, editor of Rubber Chemistry and Technology notes, “The AIDS virus is only . Micro in size… 50 times smaller than the voids (holes) in rubber… virus can easily pass through the condom.

Note: The sperm measures about 3 microns at the head and the HIV virus about 0.1 microns or about 1 ten thousandth part of 1 millimeter.

In June 2000, The National Institutes of Health (NIH), in collaboration with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDP), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), convened a workshop to evaluate published evidence establishing the effectiveness and recommendations concerning the male latex condom and the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s), including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and made a statement regarding their findings that,

“ The surest way to avoid transmission of sexually transmitted diseases is to ABSTAIN FROM SEXUAL INTERCOURSE.”

Let me ask all of you a question, “If you knew that if you start the car it has a 50% chance of exploding and killing whoever is inside, will you start the engine? What about 10% chance?

In Genesis 1:26-27

God said “Let us make man in our image, to our likeness. Let them rule over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, over the cattle, over the wild animals, and over all creeping things that crawl along the ground. So God created man in his image; in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

We were created in God’s image and likeness. Therefore, God created us in the most perfect way since God is perfect.

However, we lost our perfectness when our first parents (Adam & Eve) disobeyed the Will of God and were driven out of paradise.

But the Lord Jesus Christ redeemed us by dying on the cross. And He said in the Gospel of John 15:9-10 “As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; remain in my love. You will remain in my love if you keep my commandments, just as I kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.”

Yes, let us remain in Christ’s love and respect each other’s body and be free from sin so that the graces of God will continue to pour on us.

And finally in 1st Corinthians 6: 19-20 “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, given by God? You belong no longer to yourselves. Remember at what price you have been bought and make your body serve the glory of God.”
