1. 1. THE SQUARE C
 2. 2.

All the courses are creative of nature.

It is creative people who are studying something that can relate to their way of living, or the life they want to live. They want to express themselves in a creative way!

The faculty is part of CPUT

We have combined the “Cape” of Cape

Peninsula & the “Create” of Creative to

form “Cape Create”

 3. 3.

Cape Create = C² = “C square”. See logo – right.

To simplify the idea, students will eventually just refer to the design faculty as “ thesquare ”.

When “ the square ” is referredto in future, people will just make use of the squaresymbol instead words.

eg: The students at THE □ will be hosting an exhibition on August 2, 2008

THE SQUARE C
 4. 4. Message

What we would like to achieve with the design of the new logo is for it to become a well recognized brand which functions under the CPUT name.

This means that although THE  refers to the design faculty of CPUT, it should have its own identity be able to function individually. Once THE  can function as an independent unit of CPUT, it has become a brand.

It should seem like THE  is an independent design school, whilst it still forms part of CPUT.

We don’t want to divorce the design faculty from CPUT, we merely want it to be able to function independently as well as part of CPUT.

We have selected a simplistic yet sophisticated logo to represent the faculty.
