Affordable

What’s this Twitter thing anyway?
Twitter is a micro-blog where you comment in 140 characters or less
The object is to follow people in your service area and engage them so they will follow you back.
It’s like a cocktail party on the web (but without cocktails!) It’s a relationship starter.
Again, it’s all about the engagement!
20. 20. Why does Twitter work?
People like instant information that finds them. If they follow you, they will know what you represent.
Consumers like to be acknowledged. A fun interaction with a brand creates a loyalty TO that brand.
People care more about what their friends and network thinks than about what you say about yourself. The more you can get people to talk about you, the better!
21. 21. Twitter Stream Example
22. 22. Google+

Google+ is a sharing network with over 26 million users in just 3 months.

 25. 25. When someone clicks the +1 on a website, it stays forever. If your friend searches the same keyword 6 months later they will see that you recommended the site.

Google+ icons
26. 26. LinkedIn
LinkedIn is a social network for professionals. It allows users to “show” their network to others, connect to people they already know, and establish new business relationships with others connected to their network.
Users can also connect to alumni, industry, or other professional groups.
LinkedIn groups can be created in any subject and by any member of LinkedIn. Some groups are specialized groups dealing with a narrow domain or industry whereas others are very broad and generic in nature.
27. 27. Your LinkedIn Profile

Your LinkedIn profile is the just the beginning of your LinkedIn presence.

Your LinkedIn Summary

Your LinkedIn Summary is the fastest way to sell yourself. If your summary does not captivate the reader, the rest of your profile will never be read.
 28. 28. This is the 30 second sales pitch you give at a party.

Your LinkedIn Resume

Your LinkedIn Resume is just as important as your paper resume.
 29. 29. Put ALL your work experience in your LinkedIn Resume.
 30. 30. This is the place on your profile to show where you have been.

Your LinkedIn Activity

Your activity block shows who you have connected with, an article you found interesting, or something new you are working on, and can incorporate your twitter stream.
 31. 31. This can add value to your profile.

Your LinkedIn Recommendations

Recommendations are like the references section on your resume.
 32. 32. The best way to get recommendations is to ask.
 33. 33. Giving recommendations for people in businesses who have done a great job for you is another effective tool.

LinkedIn Groups

LinkedIn Groups is a way for organizations such as corporate and college alumni groups, non-profit organizations, trade groups, conferences, and industry-specific groups to keep in touch with their members. Groups allows you to discuss issues that are of common interest.
 34. 34. Establish yourself as an expert by commenting on group streams.
 35. 35. You can also add presentations, make status updates, display awards, and show the world your most recent photo.

Will you jump on the bandwagon?
…Or will you be left behind?
