  4. 4. <ul><li>The power line networks are not designed for Data communication. </li></ul><ul><li>PLC has some impairments: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>High attenuation. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Significant potential interference. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Noise which is generated from all loads connected to the grid. </li></ul></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>Applying efficient modulation scheme for PLC environment , (OFDM) . </li></ul><ul><li>Optimize the physical topological design of PLC network by efficient modes. </li></ul><ul><li>Applying encoding technique to achieve high-data rates and reduce the noise. </li></ul>
  6. 6. OFDM is based on the concept of frequency-division multiplexing (FDM), the method of transmitting multiple data streams over a Power line medium.

  11. 11. <ul><li>In spite of harsh environment of Power line channel the OFDM technique proved it’s ability to deliver data with high data rates and low error rate. </li></ul>
  12. 12. <ul><li>It’s highly recommended: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>To apply the concept of the smart grid to support PLC applications and to reach more high data rates. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>To improve the security environment in PLC networks by applying reliable authentication and encryption methods. </li></ul></ul>
