1. 1. ID Sequence & Order Basic Facts Place Value Write It! Time & Measurement
2. 2. Number Identification- Stage 6 • Can you read all the numbers between 0- 1,000,000? • Can you read any number to three decimal places? • Can you read the symbols for any fraction including 10ths, 100ths, 1000ths and improper fractions?
3. 3. Sequence & Order- Stage 6 • Can you tell us the number 1, 10, 100 & 1000 forward or backwards from 0-1,000,000? • Can you tell us any number before and after from 0-1,000,000? • Can you tell us forwards and backwards the sequence of fractions? Or decimals to 10ths & 100ths? • Can you order whole numbers and fractions?
4. 4. Basic Facts – Stage 6 • Can you recall addition & subtraction facts up to 20? E.g. 9+5, 13-7 • All your times-tables up to 10x, and the division facts (family of facts) • Can you multiply with 10s, 100s & 1000s? E.g. 10x100=, 100x100=
5. 5. Place Value – Stage 6 • Can you add 3-digit numbers to 1000? E.g. 240+760=, 498+502= • Can you work out remainders e.g. threes in 17=5 with 2 remainder, fives in 48 is 9 with 3 remainder? • Can you tell us how many 10s, 100s in any 4-digit number including remainders? E.g. tens in 4562 is 456 tens with 2 remainder • Can you tell us how many tenths and hundreths in a number? E.g. 7.2 is 72 tenths • Can you round whole numbers to nearest 1000 and decimals to nearest whole number? E.g. 7894 to 8000 and 6.49 to 6.
6. 6. Written Recordings • Can you record the results of calculations using addition, subtration, multiplication and division equations? E.g. 349+452 =350+451=801 • Can you show your thinking on a numberline or with a diagram? • Can you use ‘column’ addition and subtraction up to 4 digits? e.g. 476 and 7000 +285 - 586
7. 7. Measurement- Stage 6 Length & Area • Conversions between units e.g. cm to mm • Measuring accurately very tiny and very large lengths • Perimeter/area relationship • Record data in table/graph- identify trends Time & Temperature • Accurate reading of minutes/hours on digital & analogue clocks • 24 hour clocks • Centuries/decades • Time intervals e.g. ½ hour from 10 past is 20 to.. • Tide tables/weather maps • Thermometers, watches, stopwatches
