  2. 2. What is Icebreak? <ul><li>An early intervention service for young people (16-25 years) experiencing, or considered ‘at risk’ of developing, a personality disorder . </li></ul>

A service for young people… <ul><li>With damaging patterns of behaviour </li></ul><ul><li>With significant feelings of exclusion, detachment or not belonging </li></ul><ul><li>With a desire to explore positive coping strategies </li></ul><ul><li>Registered with GP in Plymouth & surrounding area </li></ul><ul><li>With no current or previous long term involvement with adult mental health services </li></ul><ul><li>With a diagnosis of personality disorder </li></ul>

Aims of Icebreak <ul><li>Support young people to live healthy secure lives </li></ul><ul><li>Reduce inappropriate use of services </li></ul><ul><li>Reduce admissions to acute MH, prison and forensic settings </li></ul><ul><li>Reduce levels of suicide and self-harm </li></ul><ul><li>Improve access to appropriate services </li></ul><ul><li>Support families and dependants of people with PD </li></ul><ul><li>Increase levels of social inclusion </li></ul><ul><li>De-mystify the diagnosis of PD </li></ul>
