Parts and places. The Structures of Spatial Representation. MIT
Space is one of the most ancient sources of intellectual puzzlement, and disciplines as diverse as pure
geometry, physics, and geography have been dealing with it for many centuries. Other, younger
disciplines, such as linguistics and experimental psychology, offer insights into the powers and the
limits of our cognition of space. Philosophers are naturally attracted to this variety of perspectives and
have been trying to reconcile them. This book is our attempt to go some way in this direction.
