Why Is This Important? <ul><li>TEA now requires all teachers to complete the Texas Teacher STaR chart annually, beginning with the 2006-2007 school year. </li></ul><ul><li>Completing the STaR chart assists teachers in: </li></ul><ul><li>self-assessing, their attempt to effectively integrate technology in their curriculum </li></ul><ul><li>determine the growth toward meeting the goals of the Technology Long-Range Plan. </li></ul>
  4. 4. 4 Key Areas of the Technology Long-Range Plan <ul><li>There are 4 key areas that the chart focuses on: </li></ul><ul><li>Teaching and Learning </li></ul><ul><li>Educator Preparation & Development </li></ul><ul><li>Leadership, Administration and Instructional Support </li></ul><ul><li>Infrastructure for Technology </li></ul>

  7. 7. Step 1 <ul><li>To Complete the Texas Teacher STaR Chart: </li></ul><ul><li>1. Open your Internet Browser </li></ul><ul><li>2. Go to </li></ul><ul><li>3. Click Login </li></ul>

Step 2 <ul><li>Type in your Username and Password (Passwords are case sensitive) </li></ul><ul><li>If this is the first time you’ve logged in your password is: password </li></ul><ul><li>If you do not remember your password: </li></ul><ul><li>Under Forgot your Password? type in your Username and click on the Send Password button. </li></ul><ul><li>Retrieve your login info from your email account </li></ul><ul><li>Type in your username and password </li></ul><ul><li>Click Login </li></ul>
  9. 9. Step 3 <ul><li>If this is the first time you’ve logged into the STaR Chart system, or if you have changed campuses, you will need to update your information. </li></ul>

Step 4 <ul><li>Click Begin to see the first item. </li></ul><ul><li>For each item, click in the check box (􀂆) by the level that you feel best describes your classroom or school. </li></ul><ul><li>The screen will automatically advance to the next item. </li></ul>TL-1 and TL-2 have already been answered Click “more…” for detailed description This is an example of a more detailed description Click in the box that best describes your level
