  5. 5. Social media has exploded into our society and I do not see it going away anytime soon. If people of my generation fail to recognize its relevance and importance, they will quickly lose effectiveness. In sports and entertainment arena, more and more fans want to hear directly from the source. If they do not get what, they want they will quickly look elsewhere for direct information. Personally, I tweet on an irregular basis, but feel it is extremely important to do my own tweeting. It seems disingenuous to do otherwise. Jeff Long, University of Arkansas Vice-Chancellor and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics @jefflongUA January 9, 2010 from iPhone
